PostSubject: Bruni Glock GAP 17 jamming.   Fri Sep 04, 2009 2:06 pm

We currently use 3 Bruni Glock GAP 17 8mm pistols for training.
We have used YAS, Umarex and Fiocchi blank ammo-but the guns jam alot(failure to extract)
Is the extractor (or lack of one) the problem?
Is it the ammo?
These are new guns only shot about 50rds each.
Does anyone have any ideas to make these guns more reliable?

Hi mogear,

I must admit to not owning, nor even handled a blank firing Glock BUT based on what I've learned with pfc modelguns, a damaged or broken extractor would certainly affect performance.

Can you manually cycle rounds through the gun? Could you chamber a round, then slowly draw the slide back...
If the extractor's holding onto the rim of the cartridge firmly it should pull it clear of the chamber until the ejector knocks it away.

If all 3 guns are ding this now, after firing (successfully?) about 50 each, could it be dirt build up in the chamber gripping the cartridge so tight the extractor's pulling away?

I'm afraid 60 to 70% of the bruni GAP's do this.
If you find a way to make it work properly, please let me know Very Happy

This is a known issue with these models. They do jam a freat deal .I hve tried various manufacturer's 8mm rounds and all with the same result. The only time I ever got a whol magazine to empty without a single jam was by adopting the correct stance whilst firing, as if you don't absorb the recoil forces that occur when the slide moves, this contributes to the problem.

GZ22's post reminded me of a discussion titled "limp wristing" as follows...

it seems real Glocks are prone to jamming unless held correctly whilst firing too...

I finally found the videos ...

Thanks for the great insight.
Do the Bruni/BBM or Voltran/Ekol Mod 92 pistols have a better reputation for reliability?
Is 9mm more reliable than 8mm ?

The Bruni 92 models work just perfect in 8mm.
Don't think 8 or 9mm makes any difference.

mine seems ok on the umarex blanks as they are more powerful.
Could be if they are new the springs are a bit strong but will weaken with use?
Fiocchi blanks don't work that well in these IMO but most other blank fire pistols I've come accross are fine.
As already mentioned cleaning and lightly oiling them makes a big difference too.
