Folks,

I found pictures of on an old P38 model, full metal, made by Kokusai.

Useful information I found so far are Francky's thread from 2005 on old forum:

http://www.mp40modelguns.com/forum2/viewtopic.php?t=341

and an interesting thread here about older "standard" cap replicas that make noise, but do not have blowback effect:

Hello,

First of all, please excuse my bad englisch.

We found a MP40 MGC68 on the attic of our grandfathers house after he died. As I was looking around online to find something out about this gun, I noticed your forum.

I read a whole lot the last hours and I would like to ask some questions.

Many of you write that on your Modelgun is written Made in Japan. On ours it is only Japan ( without Made). Why is it different?

Is it normal that some parts, little piece on the front, ...

As I'm extremely old-fashioned in terms of the looks of the guns (don't really like the new railed-frame pistols apart from Glock & USP - and those weird-looking S&W Performance Center offerings as well) so I chose the early model instead...

I started to collect several Modelguns about 8 or 9 years ago when they were clearly legal to purchase and own but I am now unsure as to where I stand. I currently own five MP40's (three MGC 68's and two Marushin ABS kits), two MGC Thompson's (the Military & Chicago versions), two MGC Sterlings, an MGC Bondshop P08 Luger, an MGC Bondshop Mac 11 and a Marushin Metal ...

I saw this back on the market on Gunbroker.com an old MGC M16.

http://www.gunbroker.com/Auction/ViewItem.asp?Item=144200724

Does anyone have any experience with these? Do they field strip like a real AR?

I’ve been looking for a Vietnam era M16 which field strips, has real weight, and can hopefully take real AR mags. Marushin’s looks to be the best.

What is the most realistic Vietnam M16?

Governements should ban water pistols (aka squirt guns).

These can be used as flamethrowers without any modifications.

People just fill them with something flamable instead of water:

http://www.metacafe.com/watch/193270/squirt_gun_flame_thrower/

I guess this only shows that people who say "ban replicas, ban airsoft" are not logical at all.

Flamethrower can cause more damage (to owner as well) than modelguns or airsoft.

This one came from Collector's Armoury in the early 90's in a plain, unprinted box with no instructions. It has the original magazine and a leather sling has been added, which is marked "MP 40".

The first thing to catch your attention is the low prices, $200-$400 USD.

The second is that they use real metal (what kind?)

They do not fire anything but have working parts such a working bolt and triggers system. The magazines eject and the stocks fold but they cannot be fully field stripped ...

Upon checking a Japanese online toy gun shop I'd spotted something unusual - KSC releases another M93R variant (this time in Heavy Weight and an airsoft) but this time it bears the authentic Beretta markings...!

Images from Magnum-Mugen

Maybe Western Arms no longer holds the exclusive rights to Beretta (or maybe WA figured out that instead to tie up with one maker only it's better to "open up" in order to get more royalties - especially during these hard times)...if ...

We had that issue in the past. And I am sure we will have it in the future. Does our modelgun hobby have a future? The AirSoft market is bringing up new models, companies and systems almost on a daily basis. Various systems (electric, gas blow back, blow back shell ejecting and so on) are available for enthusiasts and shooters.

In many countries enthusiasts can also buy real guns or blank guns which are often even cheaper.

Modelguns were developed in Japan for people in Japan that wanted ...

I've been browsing this forum for a few weeks now so I decided to join yesterday. I've been interested in model guns for several years now but I never actually got round to purchasing one (cost issue) but of course I can't now thanks to that stupid Violent Crime Reduction Act. The main reason for me wanting to have some model guns apart from being interested in firearms were to use them as props in movies. I'm starting university soon to do film tech by the way. From what I've learnt - "Shu Wei" is a metal casting factory from Taiwan (which means toy gun manufacturing isn't their core business unlike Wa Shan and other airsoft makers) and this I can say is the most faithful (and full-metal) reproduction of Marushin's Beretta M92FS with very high quality (and price).

These are (obviously) Beretta M92FS parts by Hsu Wei - similar to Hwa San, the grips are made by metal instead of plastic (note the black paint peeling off for the grips on the last pic).

Has anyone had experience with Marushin’s model gun “kits?”

These kits seem to be unassembled model guns, offer the distinct advantage of modifying and coloring the parts before assembly.

Some sites charge far more than standard assembled version of the same AR guns. But I found that www.redwolfairsoft.com offers them for less.

ARs are largely plastic, but do the Marushins have real metal (zinc) receivers, barrels, and bolts?
