The Schmeisser name story is an interesting one, read it before posting to tell me Schmeisser had nothing to do with the MP40 - you might learn something, lol.

I've put this here, because it is not a replica model gun as such, because it doesn't use cartridges.

And it isn't a real gun either, but what is it all about?

I bought this gun about 6 years ago, from a guy who knew another guy who brought it in from England. Yeah right!!

Anyway, it is not like the cheap Denix stuff, or even any of the Japanese guns which are made of alloy.

This gun is made from what appears to be machined steel and brass. No castings here!

It's 16 inches in ...

About two years ago I was so excited to get my first MAC at a gunshow. I was so excited I paid a ridiculous amount, bought ten 30 round Grease Gun mags (still in their Vietnam wrappings) and two 40 round mags. I also neglected to fully inspect the item and was disappointed to find it was not an Ingram open bolt MAC-10 semi but a crappy Vulcan closed bolt semi.

I am selling my gas guzzler - I thought it may be of interest, although strictly speaking not a real firearm or a model gun.

If that offends I am sorry, but IMHO it is vaguely gun related.

This concept was found on an airsoft site some time ago but thought it was cool.

Below are mock-up images of an upper receiver that enables any M16 rifle derivative to be converted into an automatic barrel change support weapon that reduces barrel overheating/erosion during hours of sustained fire. It uses an operation based on the Webley Fosbery Automatic Revolver to rotate the barrels for each shot. Not sure about its ROF but possible it accelerates the longer its fired as it may build ...

I am still trying to understand different designs of self-loading systems used in guns.

Usual pistol/SMG/rifle descriptions say things like "locked-breech" or "roller-lock" or "rotating bolt".

Now, I do understand that such information can be seen as "dangerous" for propagation (as in "how-to-make-gun-at-home"), which would explain why there doesn't seem to be books or publications about this subject. The only one I've found ...

I really do like movies based on actual events. And when you put yourself in the position of the characters in the movie, and see how dangerous and horrific this could have been, then it all adds to the realism of it all.

I remember when the actual event happened on the news, and I was amazed with the footage.

The plot, about bank robbers held at bay by the Los Angeles Police Department, is based on an actual incident which occurred on February 28, 1997 known as the North ...

Not only his hardwares are up-to-date (says the latest M4 variant - must be post-1996), it seems the current legislations does not affect his collection whatsoever...so I came up with 2 conclusions:

Excerpts on the change of gun laws affecting the industry in Australia:

"Luckily for Bromley (the armourer), he was able to get most of his firearms when gun laws were more lenient and the market much cheaper.

Meaning : what state of readiness are they in ?

Looking at pics of Police with their MP5s / and increasingly G 36s here in the UK at ports and RAIL /AIR terminals etc I was wondering if they carry the weapons with one in the chamber /safety on ?

Or is that considered too dangerous ??

Does anyone know ? Same question for holstered pistols .

Also , I read somewhere UK Spec , Police Heckler and Kochs were semi auto only ? Can anyone confirm ?

Thanks

While is was slowly rotting away in Kosovo i mentioned to Cerwyn that it was quite boring not to be able to handle my modelguns.

But that i had the idea of getting my eager paws on some of the confiscated guns and shoot some pictures and then get'em up here for joy and information purposes.

Due to Kosovo's declaration of independency our workload increased quite a lot so i just didn't have the time to take photos, but, just before we left i had the opportunity to ...

Well...I got it late last month but I'd just made an effort to post these up...

Yes - this is the latest offer from my dummy gun supplier - this time a Browning Hi-Power MK III (I had the choices of 2-tone Practical / Military / MK I / MK II but I like MK III the best).

Authentic marking...

Notice something strange anybody?

Yes - it's the ejection port...instead of a higher & smaller one for the MK IIIs they made a lower & larger one as seen ...

Hi all,

For reference and curiosity I want to find out the prices of real steel Browning Hi-Power MK III in the UK:

1) Live and brand new pre-Dunblane;

2) Live - used but as-new pre-Dunblane;

3) Brand new deact (current price);

4) Used but as-new deact (current price).

I want to find out these prices because I have another dummy MKIII on the way with price equivalent to GBP650...which unlike the deacts it can load and eject rounds...

Thanks in advance, ...

Does anyone know where in the UK I can get the above inert rds for a 1911 Colt for display purposes ??

There used to be a place which advertised in Gunmart ( ACS ?? ) that did everything from .17 centrefire right up to 20mm cannon rounds but I dont know if they are still going ?

I am interested in cartridges anyway and have quite a few inert rds but these tend to be older readily available ones rather than newer exotic stuff like for instance the small cartridges ...

The following is from a US News report on the upcoming court case about the almost complete firearms restrictions in DC. It shows firearms seized by the D.C. Police:

Anybody else think this is an incredibly stupid way to secure a gun?

Checklist

Pro:

Safety is on.

Finger off trigger.

Con:

Magazine in gun. Maybe unloaded, who the heck knows, but a bad start.

Hammer back. Maybe no round in the chamber, who the heck knows, but a bad start.

Mark may well decide to delete it again when he returns to take control of this forum.
