HUDSON TO CLOSE?

I recieved the following e-mail from Francky today...

Hi cerwyn,

I think you should know that Hudson will stop running the company in couple month. Please tell the guys on forum.

Thank you

francky

Shocking news considering their recent re-launch of the MkII STEN. There's no further news as yet, hopefully someone will pick up where Hudson leave off re spares and accessories.

Unfortunately, it is not brand brand new, because it uses major components of Marui Hi-Capacity (or 1911), but firing fuction is something unique. The good new is, you can use hammer, slide catch or other exterior parts of Marui ...

Happy New Year everyone...let's kickstart with something exciting:

1) MP40 HW (built model) - due to be released after April 2008 (?), this will be the first MP40 made with heavy weight material

2) Metal M16A1 & XM177E2 with parkerised finish (built model again - not the kit) - don't know if they'll somehow make the 30rd mag as well...

3) Colt .25 Auto / Browning M1910 in silver ABS (dummy models)

It appears that Hudson has revised the Thompson's bolt assy by replacing the troublesome press-in pin with a screw in pin. That should keep the extractor in place.

I think this is a positive step taken by Hudson. Now, if they would just make their magazines better...

The latest SE version looked promising, but was only produced on a very limited scale and rather expensive ...

Just read something from one of my favourite Japanese modelgun site: http://homepage3.nifty.com/nkoinuma/tsurezure81.htm and there're sayings that KSC is planning to make the SIG P230 modelgun (yet to be confirmed though)...

People must have been hungered for modelguns for too long...so along with airsoft's new power restriction let's welcome another MODELGUN COMEBACK!!!

Shame it happens after new MGC's demise... ...maybe it'll resurrect for the 3rd time who knows?

Mates,

I heard Colt 1911 model is under development at Tanio Koba, as a modelgun. I assume this will be decendant of MGC GM-5/6 model, Tanio Koba name this model as "Koba/GM-7". Some of the features disclosed so far are:

- Koba Open detonator (open cart) semi auto blow back

- rounds is made from amorphous nylon

- using conventional 7mm MG caps

- mag & barrel can be used for GM-5 (real size rounds model)

- new rounds can be used for GM-5 by exchanging ...

www.modelguns.co.uk announce that they are awaiting a limited new production of MGC M4A1 Carbines and Commandos. Does anyone know if MGC is producing them again? That would be great news and we could hope that MGC is reproducing other models. Anyway I think it is possible that modelguns just get old stocks and swap parts. Someone on the forum bought a Commando, but it came with the standard carry handle, not the sawn off version as well as in a "R.I.S. version" ...

Folks,

As the title says - MKK will release 3 models late 2007~early 2008 (and I know members from the UK will hate me for telling them these ):

1)

Colt .25 Auto - dummy model made with "Excellent Heavyweight" material.

2)

Browning M1910 - again a dummy made with Excellent material.

And news just in (yesterday actually) - the return of Webley!

Sorry to announce this guys but.....

I have stopped making model gun spares; in fact I will be giving up model guns completely.

I have been trying to get information from the authorities about RIF's and making spare parts for them to make sure this is 100% legal after the VCR act was implemented, but I haven't been able to get anything that gives me verification or guidance on this matter.

So i have some choices.

Replica guns to be banned

Alan Travis, home affairs editor

Monday June 6, 2005

The Guardian

The government is to announce this week that it will press ahead with a ban on the manufacture, import and sale of "realistic" replica and imitation guns a year after the Home Office said a blanket ban was unworkable and impractical.

The ban will not be as wide-ranging as gun control campaigners had been pressing for but it will be accompanied by a measure making ...

Now something exciting from the not so lively modelgun world - since Tanaka decided not to reproduce this one (or maybe Tanaka already sold the molds to CAW) - here comes the Type 100 SMG (Japan's Bergmann MP18 clone).

*With choices of Civilian or Artillery models;

*Comes with black ebony grips;

Earlier CAW copped some criticisms over the quality of their much-anticipated Colt M1911A1 so now certain improvements were made on their second batch - due to be released late October.

These are the 3 parts that created the problems and CAW somehow manage to solve the problems:

No.15) Slide Stop Plunger;

No.17) Plunger Spring;

No.23) Sear Spring.

For those who bought the guns from the first batch CAW will swap the parts for free - also from what I've learnt, ...

It appears that Hudson is re releasing the M3A1 with improvements to the magazine. It appears that the magazines feed lips where out of spec on the older magazines and Hudson has revised the tooling to improve the feed angle. We all know that even with Hudson's less than stellar reliability that the M3A1 does fire great as it is. But, with a newly tooled magazine they should work even better!
