Hi all. I am finally done with training and wanted to let you know that the people at WWII Guns DID replace my reciever that was cracked. I got it just before I shipped out. I put it together and it was very stiff just like originally. I am in the airport in Dallas Texas waiting to go to Alabame for 20 more weeks of job training for missile systems. When I get back home I can let you all know what I find. Ciao, it's good to be back!

History

After WWI it became clear that while Luger P08, standard pistol of German Army, is a great weapon, it is too expensive to manufacture.

In 1938 Walther has designed a 9mm pistol that was simpler and replaced P08 during WWII.

You can find more information about P38 here:

I would like to offer you a review of a great cap-firing revolver that I have recently purchased.

Manufacturer

This model comes from a German company called "Wicke". Given track record of Umarex/Walther and other German companies, this should not come as a surprise that they have experience in making replicas. Wicke carries many models of cap guns, apart from revolvers they also have western rifles and even P99 "Agent" model. It is refreshing to note that this ...

Well i had to get one of these even though it was hard to justify the cost for a modelgun, a pistol at that. With the exchange rate being as crappy as it is it worked out around the £260 mark for the gun with no rounds, which is a lot of money but there were a few reasons i had to have this one.

1. Its a Tanio Koba and although i have never owned anything made by him before his reputation is enough to want anything he makes.

2. Its a complety new system for the det pin and open rounds.

Gents,

Here is small post of MP40 HW version modelgun.

Marushin release MP40 HW version late 2008. Yes, famous MP40 in heavy weight material.

In a first glance, don't find something notable difference from ABS version. Maybe color is all black where ABS version has partial grey or more bold plastic black. Again, nothing change in appearance don't think Marushin made any change.

I expected it will weight more, but the difference in weight from ABS version is not that significant. ...

The MGC "68" MP40 modelgun was manufactured and sold in Japan from 1968? until 1977, when a new law prevented the manufacture of any modelgun that featured sheet metal, cast iron and certain hard-nesses of zinc in the barrel, bolt, receiver and frame. The real mp40 is an incredibly fun gun to shoot! I was lucky enough to be able to shoot one in Las Vegas at an indoor range. The real mp40 really has no recoil to speak of and it is truly accurate! I kept all of (8 magazines!) in the target (s) center compared to an Hk mp5 that I fired at the same place.( and later an M1 Thompson)

Also, the mp5 jammed ...

The real Thompson submachine gun

Possibly the Thompson is the best recognized submachine gun in the world! (as well as being the first to be called a submachine gun by it's creator) The Thompson submachine gun has secured ever lasting fame (or infamy) through its deeds and miss-deeds in the hands of law enforcement officers, strike busters and gangsters in the 20's and 30's.

The firing pin is made shorter than usual...

Denix Replicas... Overall Review

Post by Illuminati

Has anyone ever had any of the denix replicas, they mainly do historical weapons such as powder/single shot rifles and pistols, but they also do a walther PPK, Luger and berreta.

Slightly off topic for a modelgun forum as none of these will actually fire anything, just have working trigger system and magazine i think.

Just interested to see if anyone has ever seen/had one of their replicas because i cant find any sort of review on the net.

Hello all,

Iam new here and looking to buy my first model gun. Can anyone who owns the Marushin 1911a1 Government tell me if this gun field strips exactly like the real thing?, like the Mgc Colts.
Also is the front of the barrel open, so you get muzzle flash, smoke comming out of the front when fireing?

I was looking at the Sig 220 pistol on the UN Company website under the Wa Shan brand name - cheap for a full - metal pistol $185 but I was wondering howcome it is described as a dummy model ?

Is this a modelgun or not ?

The reason is I have dealt with UN Company before for airsofts and they are good to deal with imo , and I was wanting to get a final xmas order in before the imminent VCR bill in new year . I notice the Marushin Luger is a similar price too and ...

Another peacemaker review, this time an older classic full metal model made by RMI. This is the much older version with the hollow barrel (not open) as opposed to the latter solid one. Here is how it comes:

Open the box, and inside you just have room for the gun, no extra space for cartridges or caps etc.

Ok. Lets take the gun out of the box and have a look at it. It feels nice and heavy, and fairly solid. Nice.

I am sure that most of you are familiar with this particular gun. In my opinion it is models like this that make modelguns so much more rewarding than other types of replica. Here is what you get by the way of the box.

As far as I know, there are two different versions available, and whether this latter one is released from Marushin I couldn't confirm, but it certainly seems to be a popular choice.

The first thing about this model that I found strange was the finish. It is nickeled, but with a brushed finish on the flat parts, and a shiny smooth finish on the rounded parts. For example, ...

The sten gun derives its name from the designers (R.V. Shepard and H.J. Turpin) so the S and the T, then the EN from Enfield the location of the Royal small arms factory at Enfield lock in London.

Ten sten came to existance due to the British not having an adequate machine gun in the second world war. It was developed in mid 1941 and was a blowback operated weapon that fired from an open bolt. It was of crude design and notorious for ...

I am not too sure where to start on this one, but I shall give it a try anyhow. I am going to review the Kokusai metal version of the Colt Peacemaker. This is a short review of the MGC M733 „M16A2 Commando“, which was released in September. It is the most compact of the current M16 5.56 mm Carbine series. It is still in production by Colt and offered with fixed carry handle (M733) or a flat top receiver (M933). The original is well known since the movie Black Hawk Down, where the short M733 was used by Ranger Captain Steele and the medic Doc Schmid. Enfield model was sold by Marushin in both regular Mark II and Police before in ABS and HW. Mark II was reproduced couple time, even having a kit version, but this Police never be in Kit (or very limited production). The gun maybe little bit light, because of it's side. Here is Colt SAA metal model from Tanaka. The model was made using CMC's mold. CMC SAA was most popular amongst those SAA modelguns because of it's shape (but the model was released far before CAW was released). After CMC collapsed, Tanaka reproduced this model. There was a variation of Civilian, Artilery, Cavalury (somebody help me to spell correct) and Bantline Special. CAW released limited edition of Sherif's in metl.

Howdy!

Here is a review of CAW Colt 61 Navy percussion revolver.

This is a beautiful and well modeled modelgun from CAW. It is expensive, but you will satisfy paying that money. I've considering to buy one for long time, bought one recently at last. It really deserve what I paid for.

61 Navy was released from CAW after their first percussion model, 51 Navy. There was a 61 Navy model came with carving of naval war on a cylinder, mine is plain one but came with wooden ...

Here is another SAA review, from Hartford.

Hartford used to be one of gun shop selling parts or custom models. But they become a maker, using old CMC mold to make SAA. Because those SAA from HWS uses CMC mold, parts are interchangeable except grip (HWS make it bigger than original CMC). HWS now having other range of ex-CMC model, S&W M19, Smython, S&W M15 master piece, S&W M36, Remington Army.

HWS's main focus is good old western models, needless to say, SAA. ...

Guys,

Here is a small review of CAW Colt SAA.

In a past, number of modelgun maker made SAA model, one from CAW is known as the best one in terms of shape or detail. I know there was Rampant Classic (made by Rokken), that was very expensive, the company no longer exist, I would say CAW the best from that respect.

CAW used to be a company selling custom parts or wooden stock, become a one of modelgun maker. They also release 51 Navy, 61 Nave or other good ones, SAA is ...

There seems to be a number of different brands of Thompson SMG's available. Which is the best? (Does this justify a poll?)
Thanks for your input...

OK, zinc metal version of Kokusai S&W M19.

This is a 4th(?) generation of Kokusai metal. Let me explain little bit about the generation.

1st

As in my review of M19 HW, early stage of Kokusai revolver series. It looks ok, but little bit toy-ish. The point I did not like was, a stroke of double action was very narrow, it really turned me off when I have one back in late 70's. This generation of metal model come with black plastic grips.

2nd

After Kokusai ...

Hello.

OK, as I mentioned, will do small review of Kokusai M19. As I am not particularly good at writing a long sentence (even in Japanese), this could be short.

Let me skip history or explanation of real M19 as it is so famous.

1) Small history of the gun

Kokusai has been making it's revolver product line for long. At early stage of the line, it was ok, but little bit toy-ish. Many people regard Kokusai revolvers as mere dead copy of MGC revolver. However, ...

Well I decided to do a short review of a ABS MGC M16 finally. I got this model from www.modelguncollector.co.uk - it is still on their website so if you like just check it for more and better pics. Anyway this particular model should be sold as I have it now.

Reason I got this model was that I am too keen on AR-15 rifles, and this was a version without forward assist, something I did not yet have in my collection. Even more it was in such nice, unfired and boxed condition ...
