Problems with Modelguns not working properly or breaking various parts are common enough, we've all suffered from them often enough.

Reading Jim's post about Hudson's latest STEN being of dubious quality, smootik's comments about poor metal on his MadMax Shotgun prompted me to put this short video together.

My Hudson PPSh41 has just been converted to a gas-bypass system so it'll vent smoke through the barrel so the first test firing session hadbeen eagerly looked forward to.

WaShan M9 Dolphin Fire Selector Broken

Pffffffff don't seem to have any luck today. I disassembled the M9 to clean the firing pin and to straighten the pin on the inside of the slide stop, and the pin on fire selector on the inside of the gun broke of, without even touching it. I took off the slide and the little pin just fell out of it. This means of course the end of the full auto mode

Don't know what to do anymore. Don't think this is even fixable

Just a silly question: anyone have a fire selector spare part?

I got an All metal Wa Shan series 70 and simply put, when fired the slide does not slide back enough or at all sometimes.

I've tried using a lot of lubrication and even a smaller spring from my MGC 1911 (the slide spring underneath the barrel)

I thought it was dud caps but I've tried caps from 3 different boxes.

I may be loading the cap into the cartridge wrong because the piston is loose in there because it does not have an O-ring.

Has anybody had this problem?

Any ideas?

My Tanaka Glock 18 arrived last night.

At first I was very pleased. The only noticeable difference was the weight, since the slide and barrel are plastic.

The internal workings were amazingly identical to a real Glock. (I’m in the process of moving right now but when I get my real Glock 17 I’ll post some photo comparisons.)

About an hour later the attached rubber grips fell off!

The plastic lower receiver contains massive quarter size holes underneath the rubber grips right ...

My M16 arrived last week. I started to build it and in less than 3 hours, the job was done.

Only there is a big problem with the bolt. At first, it didn't seem to 'fit' in the receiver.

Actually, the receiver was the problem, because the bolt from the M635 (also marushin, so completely the same) that I have bought from Kickback also gave the same problem.

When I just had the upper half of the gun in my hands, so just the receiver, I could slide the bolt in the receiver, but about ...

Hi everyone.

Just got my first kit (Marushin Browning Hi Power) which I finished putting together, which was rather fun. However, I now have a couple of problems I'm faced with.

First is the magazine release which won't screw into place. I've put the screw and spring in place, placed it into the gun and I assume when in place you turn the screw again but it just won't turn (messed up my screw driver trying, lol).

Secondly, and the main problem really, is that the detonator pin ...

thought this may be an opportune moment to look over my Model Guns. On the last shoot my KSC M93R (which has worked brilliantly up to this point) stopped working. Just purchased this beauty, and I'm new to the whole area of model guns. I've tried reading numerous posts on this site and others, but all the terms, different kinds of guns, etc. has gone over my head. I ordered 7mm caps, because every website seemed to say this gun used them, but I am not getting the desired results. I found from this site that I need some glue stuff to keep them in place within the rounds (makes sense since they move around)... but even when I get a successful fire, ...

But to my surprise the front foregrip screw doesn't fit into the tommy gun and even if it did it doesn't line up properly with the wood grip. Its like its off at a different angle than the hole. The specs are completly off compare to the real foregrip. It looks like I almost have to make my own custom attachment for the grip.

quality is ok, after you shave off some molding form remains it's better. Material is HW (external), metal (hammer, top assembly and inside parts), wood (grips). Weight is good after assembly - frame/barrel alone feel too light.

OK after saying how reliable the mp40 was suddenly i have developed a very serious problem. When firing the gun and it only takes a couple of rounds the upper separates from the lower, now the only thing that holds the upper and lower together (to my knowledge) is the the spring assisted pin in the lower receiver which locks into the hole ...

I've got a new MGC MP40 and the lower is a little loose. I noticed there is an empty hole forward of the trigger right by a molded in screw. Usually where the lock screw would go on a real MP40. Is there supposed to be a screw here to hold the lower? If so, does anyone know what a comparable replacement would be as far as thread size?

It doen't look like it's threaded for a bolt so I'll probably just try to use a small bolt with a nut on the bottom side of the trigger ...

I just picked up my first MGC MP40 model gun. The problem is the barrel won't stay on. I've attached a pic of the barrel nut. Does it look like an MGC unit? The threads on the receiver look good so I don't think it's stripped out. Also, the bolt won't lock in to the cutout at the rear position. Is this common?

Thanks all,

Jayrbenz

P.S. It's also missing the little rear flip sight. Are these available anywhere?

Fellas.

It has finally happened to me, that inevitable thing, yes, the wooden stock is no longer attached to my shotgun, because the plastic threaded section that holds it in place has snapped off

I have tried all manner of ways to somehow re-attach the stock, but to no avail. Does anyone have any suggestions as to how I could sort it?

As always, your help is very very much appreciated.

I'm new to Model Guns. I just bought a Beretta M93R... and I can't seem to figure out how to load the damn caps... because the instructions are in Japanese. What usually happens is I load the cap in and when I pull back and release the slide, the cap ignites before I even pull the trigger. I really don't know what the hell I'm doing. Can someone help me out?

I have purchased an MGC M4A1. It is new, but it doesn't really fire that well on full auto consistently.
I am running Marushin 7mm caps. Would the MGC 7mm caps be better?

Is there anything to check on the gun that might be leading to this? IE, I have heard sometimes you need to do some tinkering? Filing?

How about lubrication?

I just picked up an early MGC MP40 that I'm hoping to get converted over to fire PFC carts. It has a solid plug installed in the chamber that I can't get to budge. Any tips on removing a stubborn plug? The trunion and plug are chrome plated and it doesn’t appear to be rusted or corroded in place.

Ok this is probably an easy fix.

I have acquired an as new MGC68, I suspect a very late model, and I cannot strip it.

I have other model MP40's and they all dissamble easily, as per an original.

This is marked MGC68 on the rear of the receiver tube mounting. there are no serial numbers anywhere.

There is a small "Japan" on the bottom of the trigger guard.

It has a plastic resting bar. Otherwise except for foregrip and pistol grip it is all metal.

Hello Guys ,

Quick question , and please excuse my ignorance if I sound a bit ...thick

I read elsewhere about someone who broke their new Beretta 93 by dry firing it and snapping the firing pin .

Am I likely to do the same by playing around with my MGC M 16 when there are no cartridges in the mag ??

I have not received the rifle yet but would like to be prepared - I am pretty sure it will arrive with NO instructions

Regards CARL

No matter how I adjust them I cannot get the ( nasty ) triangular original handguards to fit properly - & now I noticed a tiny crack in them which is bound to get worse .They always have a gap at the top or the bottom when I fit them .

I like the look of the A2 handguards and would like to buy some for my A1 - they look nice ...

Marushin MP40 Refinishing Zinc model...

This has probably been discussed before;

What is the best way to refinish the color on a zinc "Marushin" replica MP40 -- this has no markings so I'm guessing it's a Marushin, as it does not take the mags from my MGC68.

This one has almost completely lost it's color. Being almost "in the white."

Just bought a used Garand and it will not eject the empty clip after the last round. Is this a common problem or just bad luck or a part damaged or worn?

I have had a Hudson M1A1 for some time now but not been able to fire it. Well over the last few days i have had that chance, it is a brand new model so should perform great however it does not.

I also have just bought a an MGC chicago thompson which worked perfectly so i am rather dissapointed that the Hudson does not.

The problem as in many of the models is in the ejection of the round, however i have a feeling that it could be down to the mag. The Hudson D/eagle ...

Some of you may have found this little cure already but just in case...

The ejector port cover is located by a spring and plunger and SHOULD open automatically when the charging lever is pulled back.

My kit's plunger seemed too long so the flap would stick shut.

By carefully opening the compartment holding the spring and plunger remove the plunger and find a used plastic 7mm cap.

I had several used in Marushin cartridges that had been punched through by the cartridges firing pin leaving ...

MGC M725... Tweaking for consistent Automatic Firing

Exactly what it says on the tin I'm asking on behalf of a friend who just bought one, it's doing his head in - the problem is that it won't fire more than 3-4 rounds on full auto without a stoppage.

As far as I know the rounds are properly loaded (the thing works flawlessly on semi auto), so can anyone recommend any tuning procedures, adjustments or modifications to allow consistant auto fire?

Thanks in advance

First of all, hello everyone!

I'm really glad I found this forum, getting information about modelguns really ain't easy

Some months ago a friend of mine played around with my Marushin Beretta M84 (and I don't try to make excuses, it REALLY was a friend of mine, not me ) and since then, pulling the trigger doesn't release the cocked hammer anymore. Double action doesn't work either. He said he heard something like a small part fall out, but we didn't find anything.
