I've noticed that over time some of my magazines that were in storage for longer time have developed slight rust on their (painted) surface. They originally had a slight film of silicone oil, but it does not seem to have helped.

Would you know a good way to restore them?

The last resort would be probably a wire brush or other mechanical method, though it would remove paint, too, resulting in more action to repaint magazines.

M39, Sig P210, Sig P220 be compatable with each other I've no dimensions to compare directly, but they're all 9mm and their rims and rim grooves look very similar.

Would they be the same overall length I wonder

Hello All,

First posting, Be gentle with me

Some of you know me already, and I hope to get to know the rest of you!!

I noticed that about a year ago mention was made of using Marushin Colt "pocket" .25 cartridges in the Hudson Scorpion, has anyone tried this out yet?

It's a nice looking model but sure is hard work getting it firing on auto!!

Thanks

I have a MGC ABS XM177E2 (M16A1 Commando) that is firing quite well on FULL and SEMI. I am currently really enjoying this model but realized that some carts got damaged badly/destroyed. The threads got blowed off and the upper part of the cart gets widened.

Does anyone know what the issue may be? Maybe the piston travels not easy enough, but I do lightly grease the carts inside ...

Will have to look for some replacement carts anyway ...

I have one (only) 9mm Luger Mulberry Real Look cartridge and it's basically a c.p. type just like MGCs cartridges. Same internals, same operating principle.

They also do Dummy Cartridges... take the 5.56mm M16 type for example... are these just solid dummy rounds that can be cycled through the gun after removing the detonator pin or can they be taken apart

Is it possible (somehow) to insert a cap into one

Thanks

Hello all,

Well I finally obtained two model guns. They are;

1.) A MGC Colt Delta Elite 10mm.

2.) A Tanaka P226 Heavyweight Non-Railed with 2 Magazines.

I may soon be selling the Delta Elite in favor of a GI or Mil Spec 1911. If you're interested, offer up, but that is beside the point.

My question is; can these magazines be dropped on dirt/grass/the floor during reloads like real magazines can be, or are these like airsoft mags where if you drop them ...

also, anyone try a speedloader with their revolver?? is it cool?

It seems like the manufacturers always design their own proprietary cartridges for their guns. Has anyone ever compiled a substitution chart, list, etc. as to what-fits-what? It would seem that some of the cartridges are so close dimensionally that they could be used interchangeably.

Since some carts are getting more & more expensive & hard to find, this may benefit quite a few of us.

I seem to remember seeing something in these forums about using a .50 cal primer as a substitute for a cap. I was thinking of firing some in my m1921 thompson.

Would these primers pose the same currosion danger as caps containing pospherous? (I cannot remember the last time my platoon actually cleaned our .50 cals so I think they may be more friendly to steel). If this is so and given the price difference, I think I'd feel pretty good about buying primers to fire. ...

General opinion and recommendations favours the .38s over Hudsons own cartridges without doubt but I can't get them to work in my new gun.

Rough measuring shows a definate difference in case diameters between the Hudsons and .38s, the .38s being the larger diameter.

Little wonder I think that they won't feed through and out of the drum mag properly.

So I decided to get more carts, the current MP 40/UZI carts. They look exactly the same like the carts that came with the gun, but they don´t work! Everything is the same, gun, detonator, caps, but ...

As the cartridge/caps are so integral to the firing simulation that the modelgun provides us, there are several areas/details that have to observed when loading/firing any modelgun cartridges. By now, I would think that most of the forum members are quite adept at loading them at this point.

1. Cleanliness: How clean are the cartridges? Any "build up" inside/on them?

2. Straitness: Are the cartridges sides bulged due to pressure?

3. Inside finish: Are ...

Hi guys ,

I have a similar problem as Phil on here as regards what to get next and as time runs out for us UK modelgunners , the all metal Wa Shan Beretta certainly does appeal , especially in pimptastic silver

My question is , what cartridges work in this modelgun ?

Gunsnguys already told me they have no cartridges / caps for this model , although I assume it comes with 6 as standard ???

Will it take MGC 9mm s for their Beretta ?? If so would Francky be able ...

Hi all

I'm new and happy to be here. I just recently caught the replica bug and purchased a MGC S&W M76. Problems that i identified, as i became familiar with this subject, is the scarce availability of MGC cartridges, of which i didn't know before purchasing the M76 (no regrets). My M76 came with no cartridges nor manuel. If somebody can point me in the right direction to acquire MGC 9 MM cartridges i would be forever greatful. Second, i am unfamiliar ...

Ok I may be a little sad and on my own with this however I have recently aquired an interest in some of the old caps boxes that have been going over the years .

To me this adds another facet to this hobby .

Here are a few :

some of these are the paper type that I think may pre date modelguns and for use in normal play guns.

Notice the green MGC cap box (these are now yellow of course) and also the Marushin 5mm , this box contains 100 caps but is all card ...

Does anyone know where I can buy magazines for my mgc68 MP40 here in Canada? My original one that came with my mp40 has gone missing over the years and I'm using a dummy one I had made for it but would like to replace it with an mgc one. I don't know if I can get one outside of Canada due to our laws concerning replica firearms. Any help would be appreciated.

Hi,

Has anybody got any information on which grade of brass model gun cartridges are made from and whether different manufacturers use different materials?
