| Hi all, My apologies firstly for asking probably the dumb "first timer" questions. I have recently aquired a CMC Replica P38. From what I have been told, it is approximately 20-25 years old. I have also been told it is or has the capabilities to become a blowback or blank firer. Does anyone know about this particular model and if so, can they assist in telling me what I need to do to get it working as such? It is blued nicely, has bakelite grips and works just like the real thing, being it can be stripped down and has all of the actions of a real P38. I am a reenactor in Australia wanting to get this working if possible. Cheers! blitzcraig. |

| I do believe that some of the older models can be turned into blowbacks, kickback could help you on this as he has done it with a couple of the older models, unfortunatly i never have so cant help but try kickback. |

| Welcome aboard! Good to see we have another Aussie here. It's not easy with our rediclous laws to own these replica model guns. Unforunately I can't help you out with the CMC either. Can you post a picture up? _________________ Gun? What gun, Officer? It's just a lump of alloy and wood!

| Here's my CMC, but I don't know much about it either. The bluing on mine was wearing off pretty bad, so I thought I'd remove and polish it. Looked OK when it was first done! _________________ Gun? What gun, Officer? It's just a lump of alloy and wood!

| yup! That looks like mine! mine apparently is about 20-25 years old and the bluing still looks good. Ive PM'd Francky, apparently he's the man in the know. Hopefully I can get the parts to convert it over. I see you have a MP40. I used to have one, but STUPIDLY sold it when I was broke! GAH!!!! Dumbest mistake of my life!!! Especially since Im a German soldier in reenacting! D'oh! I'll put some pics up tonight...... cheers! |

| Here's a couple of shots to show the markings on the side of mine. And no, the barrel isn't bent. It just appears that way for some reason. _________________ Gun? What gun, Officer? It's just a lump of alloy and wood!

| blitzcraig, welcome to the forum. I believe this was sold before 1979, the year new law for modelgun banning to make handgun modelgun in zinc or whatever metal kind of which barrel can be separated from a frame (i.e. P38, Colt 1911). The parts of pre 1979 is very very scarce....suggest not to move/action around too much. Francky may know more about the gun, but I tell you, replacement parts are very difficult to find now. shaz, |
