We talked about it on the mp40modelguns forum a few months ago. Marushin was said to plan rereleasing the factory assembled M16A1 and XM177E2. I think I found some pictures on Yahoo Japan. They are fully assembled and come with the steel 20 rd magazine and parkerized (grey/green) military finish and the kit manual. Interesting to know if there are other changes? Is the XM flashhider metal? Maybe one of our Japanese members can help.

The Parkerised finish certainly looks nice on the XM177 doesn't it?
I wonder if Marushin have sorted out the poor screw thread on the butt stock tube by now? I recall having great difficulty tidying the thread up using grinding paste just to get the butt tube to screw into the receiver.
I wasn't the only one to experience this problem assembling the kit if my memory serves me right.
With any luck, these factory models might even fire properly too...

DENTrinity is now offering the factory assembled version of the XM177E2 and M16A1 for 312 USD each. Although this is not a new model, I am glad to see that the modelgun hobby is not dead at all

Modelguns-worldwide are offering them too now. You can see some nice pics there. Interesting is that they still offer a more expensive, "tuned" version where the modifications are done by them ...

I saw XM at the store.
I was bit dissapointed as to the color....I expected it to be little bit more grey...it is too green. Also, body painted in almost same color with mag....hmmmm.
Flash hider is made from plastic, not metal. I haven't touched it, so don't know how it feels, but heard a bolt moves slightly smoother that the one from kit.
shaz,

Thanks for the update! I wish I could walk into a modelgun shop here and check the various models out. Judging from the pics I too think the od/green finish is not very realistic. I would like a grey (parkerized) finish more. The finish of the magazines (Marushin and MGC) should be grey, not dark blue or od/green.

The trouble with that is ...more than one forum user have mentioned a fault in the ABS receiver tube ( basically letting go) so I dont think the HW will last very well at all ( ABS being tougher than HW )

They may look nice to display and handle but may suffer badly from lots of use Crying or Very sad

A HW barrel and lower receiver may be nice though

Have to agree with you Doc, HW has a lot of problems and i doubt this 40 would last long but i would still like one, although as you say maybe a few HW parts put onto the ABS model would be a good way to go.
