PostSubject: MGC M16-PFC gun or just replica??   Wed Jun 03, 2009 6:21 pm

Just bought an MGC M16 and it cam with 5 brass carts which are "solid" so was wondering if this was a PFC gun or just a prop gun?

Also was told they were used in Full Metal Jacket?

Thanks

Never seen solid shells in one of these ..you mean a complete rod of brass but with the ejector lip fitted ?

They should all fire although some versions have an impossible to get to detonator section .

If you run FMJ on slow mo there are quite a few scenes where you can tell its the MGC M16 (mainly from the large hex bolt that keeps the back closed )

These are what came with it.

Whats the general opinion with the MGC vs Marushin M16s??

Not had enough time to give it a good giving over as yet but 1st impressions is that it doesnt look as authentic but is heavier and its styled after an early M16-3 prong flash hider and no forwards bolt assist.

The only rounds I have seen like that before came with a gun I got from battle orders about 25 years ago ..

The metal M16s are nice and solid feeling however the internals are quite different from an original

Be careful when opening the gun that its cocked and set to safe as there is a big spring inside there Shocked

Thanks Doc,overall seems ok,a bit sturdier than the Marushin ones but the bloody handguards are loose and doesnt seem to be any way to tighten them.

Not as accurate due to no markings etc but a nice addition to the collection and i can blag it and tell my mates it was used on FMJ!!!!!
