Been offered an Airsoft M203(no handguards) and wa swondering please if anyone which model/make would be compatible with my Marushin M16A1(or MGC) and how do they fit/attach?

I did manage to fit a G&P (i think) airsoft 203 to a Marushin M16, as it was a long time ago i can't remember exactly how i did it but it wasn't a straight bolt-on. Cerwyn has it now so perhaps he can jog my memory

you normally have to add extra spacers to the fixing points as modelgun barrels are a lot thinner than airsoft barrels and the things can flop about.


Having the M203 on a marushin normally means a lot of fiddling to get the detonator pin out to clean too.

Best to fit a rail system and bolt a 203 to that

Hi,
I have fitted a G&P M203 on my MGC M4, the only mods that i had to do where
remove the bayonet lug on the fore sight so that it would clear when attaching.
The only other mod was to linish (only a small amount) the inner finger parts of
the M203 that locates onto the chamber of the rifle.
The only other thing to check when fitting is to make sure that the barrel nut lines
up and locates with the nipple on the M203 so that it can not rotate around.

Cleaning the detonator pin is no big deal as i never fire any of my PFC guns as the rounds are a pain in the ass to clean and ive never had a gun yet that doesnt jam when shooting so i now dont bother.

As i bought my Marushin a few years ago new it cost me a fair bit and would love to sell it and just buy an Airsoft m16 with 203 but i would lose a lot of money on my Marushin M16 so i guess ill stick with it.

Have found 2 M203s at decent prices-one i think is made by G+P Knights Armaments,other i think is a Sun Project??-All this Airsoft is new to me!!!

This one is an Airsoft gas powered one. I bought the gun complete off 8ace a long time ago now.
I didn't realise the handguard doesn't come with the launcher though, no doubt a bit of searching through Airsoft accessories will turn them up

Yep the handguard was separate and (IIRC) it was the long one

I the reason I got the G&P one was that it had all of the correct markings and is all metal (except the ribbed launcher grip) but that was a few years ago so things might have changed

Jut had a 203 delivered and while it seems very nice,solid it doesnt look like the one fitted to Cerwyns gun so hope it will fit

No make on it just very nice looking official Colt markings so no idea of maker.

The guy who sold it to me reckons its a Sun Projects M203??

Problems ive encountered is that the front attachment is too big but im sure that some tape around the barrell or fitting a small piece of thicker pipe over the barrel should sort this out.

2nd problem is there is nothing at the chamber end to stop the 203 from rotating.Looks as if it should locate into the 2 cutouts on the 203 itself but of course on the Marushin there is nothing so what would you guys suggest please??

I was thinking of maybe supergluing or aralditing a couple of strips of plastic/wood either side of the barrel to locate into the cutouts in the launcher???













Also is the Marushin barrell strong to cope with the extra weight as this is quite heavy??
