Those certainly are lovely display model guns Jim. I would love one of those. Roughly how much do they cost in £GBP? Also, when you compare the quality and feel to that of your Taurus, how does it fare? I would probably be far too tempted to get an MP5 or S&W, but there are loads that I feel I just need to have, such as all of them!

Hi Spencerman ,

To answer your question on the price - if it's still in stock then it'll set you back at...£870 (this is only the over-the-counter price so I think you should buy 2~3 brand new deacts instead...)

I bought these dummies because I can load & eject inert rounds with it and I don't need a licence/exemption to buy it...but as you can see the grouping of the Beretta marking on the slide is a bit too close & the surface treatment is somehow incorrect (it should be matt black instead of mirror finish like this one...)

This replica I can say - apart from certain faults it's an excellent piece. It feels different to my Taurus deact. though - no offence, but the quality of Brazilian guns in the early days were significantly worse (now they're catching up and it's good to see). I bought it because it was used in thousands of HK action flicks before...

I asked the guy to make a MP5A5 replica but after counting the production cost he reckons that he has to have at least 80 definite orders before he can go ahead with it...

I'll go bankrupted soon if I keep going like this...

Partly correct...with material prices such as gold and every kind of metal including steel sky-rocketed the steel used in this replica make up the high prices...

But it's actually the price of the molds that really counts...here is an example of a mold from MGC:

That is an awesome replica Jim ,

Expensive , yes , but the quality is there for all to see , and I have never seen a finer copy of my favourite handgun than that .

I have owned blank firers , replicas , CO2 pistols , airsofts , and modelgun 92 s but yours beats the lot and even at £870 would be completely an ESSENTIAL purchase for me were it not for our VCR law.

Until the law is repealled I will have to content myself with your wonderful pictures.

So thank you for posting them .

Regards

CARL.

As a foreigner, the VCR Bill really sounds reasonable to me - people can still buy guns deactivated from live ones but illegal to buy & possess factory (or home) made replica firearms

Obviously the owners (and the suppliers) of deacts form a larger and more influential group in the UK than anyone else...like the NRA in the US.

Deacts just don,t do it for me . I have owned a few in the past .

To meet current UK spec, the butchery is appalling . You are left with an inert lump of solid metal - little more than a sad memory of what used to be ...

Old spec is better but very expensive . I recently saw an M4 going at £3000 . MP5s more like £1500 . Pistols for around £500 upwards.

But the cuts and rods and welds put me off and I would much prefer a working replica .

Thanks carl.

I think deact. semi-auto pistols are still nice collectibles without being welded in the UK...

I too saw some old spec M4s for sale on UK websites - but I think the M4s were only made after 1995 - so are they actually converted from AR15s? Maybe it's time to consult our M16 expert Markus...

Also I saw a North Korean made Type 65 (Tokarev-clone) at just £265...if I live in the UK I'll get it definitely...

Envy the US - apart from some asshole states (namely "K"alifornia) the bans are sunset clause...
