I only wish the text accompanying these series of photos was in English as it would be so much more informative.

I too enjoy looking at good detailed photographs of these modelguns and hoped that readers here do to.
It would be great to see members adding their own photos, videos, hints & tips to each gun too

It's excellent to see the two models next to each other, I am very interested in the differences between the 1st and 2nd, and it's cool to see them displayed like this.

Now we need to see a video of it firing, the modelgun that is.

hi cerwyn , just a quick one on the shoei fg42 , ive had the first one as a firer , only to be blunt it was not very good to say the least , i think looking back that it only managed to eject a couple of times , and then i needed a sight for my mg42 laffette , so that one had to go , but i do have the second pattern fg , and it is absolutely superb , although i have had the bottom half of the wooden butt split on me , so shazib got me a new one ! , expensive , but worth it , shazibs service is absolutely first class , i also have a 7.62 blank firng 2nd pattern fg , which is being worked on as i had a ruptured case which needed to be taken out , some great photos , and its put me in the mood to get another first pattern !!, bugger , regards richard

If all these photos are enough to tempt you into buying another, all I can say is, I know exactly how you feel God knows I've seen a tasty looking modelgun in photos here and realised I can't possibly live without it...

I'm sure Doc (if I remember right) linked us up to a video of a FJ Re-enactor firing a Blank Fire converted Shoei Fg42... could that be yours I wonder?

Reading about and talking to folk it does sound like the PFC Shoei models in general aren't particularly good at firing. Could it be that the internal mechanisms and strong springs are just too heavy for PFC caps to overcome?
The B/F conversion worked beautifully in that video as I recall You'll have to show us more of yours when its firing again please
