A HK gun dealer Mr Ho took these pics from his collection - it's not difficult since there were approx. 3000 firearms in his armoury while he also ran the theatrical weapon business co-owned by Jackie Chan - his prop gun business ended several years ago when HK cinema gone downhill...

Now I believe his business and himself are over - he was detained by the Chinese authorities 2 months ago accused of arms smuggling into China and the HK Police seized all of his guns...

Me too...this is believed to be the only live MP5A5 available in HK - the SDU (HK's answer to the SWAT team) are still using MP5A3 only...

It isn't easy for a civilian (in this case a gun dealer) to own something like this especially in HK when guns are generally restricted or even prohibited...we don't have those Class I Class III classification in HK and also getting a genuine German-made MP5 isn't easy at all - the 2 active HK theatrical weapon suppliers can only get the Pakistan and the Turkish clones only...

Even if they don't want to destroy the German ones for theatrical use they can still at least get a live sample...so I believe that they're unable to source it...

But now with the owner of these guns currently detained in China and facing possible death sentence this MP5 is now on the government's hand...don't know if they'll auction it off or simply destroying it...

Who is this Mr Ho? Or Joe? Does he appears on any film/movie at all?

Mr Joe Ho was actually a middle-aged gun dealer here in HK - a very high profile one as he owned a well-organised gun shop/club/storage* as well as prop gun rental before...he was also a great shooter participating various shooting competitions around the globe including the full auto ones in Nevada (our moderator John should know this guy too)...

Unfortunately he was accused of smuggling guns into China back in August and since then (it's hard not to be sarcastic on this one) the matter goes into legal proceeding Chinese-style (i.e. detaining him in China's prison without laying charges for at least 1~2 years )

It's almost certain that he'll be executed by firing squad in China but I just don't want this to happen...although I met him once trying to buy a deact. off from him and his arrogance was quite unbearable...but his contribution to the shooting sport in HK is undisputed...finger-crossed.

*Handguns have to be stored in gun clubs or recognised armouries in HK...something like this carried out for a year after the Dunblane massacre in the UK before Tony Blair stepped in

I thought they were stopping execution by shooting in China in favour of lethal injection ?

It depends on where the executions taking place - I believed a bullet is more cheaper than a lethal injection in China (unless the syringe is filled with sewage or even oxygen...but that's another story...)

The firing squad is in a way another form of lethal injection - by bullet that is...

I start to realise that the wordings on all of my posts for the past few days are getting ridiculous...I've to do something about it otherwise I'll be banned eventually...just couldn't help it though.
