| Post by Phobus Christ on a bike !!! Imagine letting rip at a load of politicians with that !! On second thoughts , the real steel would be better for that job - 7.62 mm a lot better than .43 paint correct ?? Carl. _________________ Marmite enthusiast | |

| Post by Phobus Thanks Mike I was disappointed with that film - after having high expectations too. Not enough action . Sorry - I,m sure the films significance is lost on me but I like to be entertained and I was,nt . Especially . Give me Sniper or Black Hawk Down anyday . | Post by MadMike Well, I like the film, despite the fact that I have read the book before. The book is great, but you must accept that it goes far beyond the standard war story. Swafford is a great and skilled writer, but the Gulf War is just the background for his story, which goes much deeper, and quite a few things may be fiction, which is okay for me. I could not put this book down, but this is getting off-topic now ...
Anyway you must say the paintball scene is great, no matter if you like the film or not. _________________ "It's a hardball world, son. We've gotta keep our heads until this peace craze blows over."

| Post by fightdesigner I've been wanting to try one of the RAP MP5s that eject the casings... figure until they come out with a MP5 modelgun it's the best way to get a prop MP5 that will eject anything like casings, and it's probably sturdier than a modelgun would be anyway. I'd want the select-fire version, though! _________________ Freelance hack... and slash, and gun. | |

| Post by Spencerman When you say select fire version, what do you mean? Full auto/semi auto like this: Or do you mean the SEF trigger configuration? Personally, being an ambedextrous shooter, I cannot stand the SEF version, and much prefer the Navy configuration with the pictogram markings for the bullets. These are great guns, I would recommend them to anyone. They can also due to the nature of the firing system eject the shells without firing any projectile, making them superb for tv work as they are really safe and yet effective. You can also adjust the firing rate to suit. _________________ | |

| Post by fightdesigner Just like that one, as a matter of fact!
The M4 models are easier to find at least here in the US, but the 'casings' seem closer in length to 9mm anyway, so much better suited to something like the MP5.
So yours has held up just fine? _________________ Freelance hack... and slash, and gun.

| Post by Phobus The seller of my MP5 also has this up for sale at £350 - also in mint condition , but this one has been fired . Its a RAP 74 replica of AK 74 of course . I only recently acquired a blank fire AK47 so will pass on this but seems like a good deal at the price and where else can you buy a full metal working , functioning , shooting replica which emulates the real steel in so many ways ? My only beef with the MP5s is the none functioning bolt I understand the complicated rotating bolt is difficult and complex to copy but it would be great to feel the first round " chamber " as the bolt snicks forward. Of course these replicas do not even have a bolt / firing pin like the firearm so its a none starter . carl. _________________ Marmite enthusiast | |

| Post by 2sharp Just for reference the MP5 uses a bolt with locking rollers, not a rotating bolt. (roller-delayed blowback) The bolt actually moves back and forth to lock/un-lock/delay the action. _________________ I need more model guns... | Post by Spencerman My MP5 has held up superbly. The rate of fire I have set fairly high, so as to get many shells flying at once. The only thing that has gone wrong with it has been the little rubber flange that sits inside the ejection port has split, but it has no effect on it at all, so I am not bothered. No jams, a few burst paintballs probably down to the rate of fire, but I hardly use those in it anyway, usually rubber compliance rounds, although I do like the look of the less lethal rounds! I had a few problems with my M4, but nothing like it with the much more used MP5. The other thing, although the 'real' ejection port is solid (like on airsoft) and the actual ejection port is an open little square just underneath it, you can still move the charging handle, so you can do the HK slap, and unlike airsoft, you probably dont have to worry about breaking it as the construction of these are solid heavy feeling guns. It is a shame that the 'real' ejection port doesnt at least open like the newer airsoft models, but the feel of it, and the build quality, as no doubt Carl can probably vouch for me now, and the solid click of the selector switches really puts those airsoft aeg's to shame. No comment about the YE version though, as that is probably a whole other story. On a slightly different note, I do need to use it for a test, where I am not going to be firing any form of projectile, but in which I will require the tri finned barrel rather than the newer style flash surpressor that is in it. Is there anyone out there who could construct for me a barrel (just the tip, as similar to airsoft it screw on at the end) that I could screw on to cosmetically give it the look of the older style. If so, then please pm me. It may be possible to modify an airsoft tip to allow it to screw on, but it would mean that the base would need to be fatter. I can always be more precise and supply pictures of the sort of thing that I want if anyone thinks they may be able to help me out. Please pm me. _________________ | |

Only $45 not sure if these are affected by VCR over here but will put one on my next order methinks . Cheers . Carl. _________________ Marmite enthusiast

| Post by cow_commander Are paintball guns in the UK subject to those same restrictions on airsoft and blank guns, or can you still buy them online like anything else? | |
