| Post by shazhib Looks fun!
I know people were bit bold (in anywhere in the world), but thing are lot more simple and easy in many extent. Good old days......when people are not talking about something politically correct. I heard you can buy a rifle at a department store in back in 1950-60 even in Japan.....

| Post by schultzsgt The only problem I can remember about the cap firing tommyguns was after a time the residue from firing the caps would corode the hammer and the hammers would snap. We never tought back then as kids to clean and lube things. I don't think the white metal hammers were up to the stress on them we did abuse them when you think about it _________________ | |

| Post by Claymore that cowboy gun is brill and i am sure i had either that or something very similar although i dont remember it firing caps, it cam with a leather holster and was the nuts. Also used to have a FN SLR that fired plastic rounds which was a great copy. brings back good memories doesnt it sad to think that kids in the UK are allowed nothing these days. | |

| Post by shazhib I heard very initial stage of MGC started up the company, MGC imported (or somebody else imported), dye in black and sell it as a model gun back in 1960. I assume those Mattel guns are something MGC was selling.
It is such a nostalgic view.....

| Post by Spencerman That fanner 50 looks like loads of fun, and you can still get them on ebay (us) along with the shells! Shame that you would probably be locked up if you imported that to the uk nowadays. I love the way that the bullets fire from those guns, they look just like the real thing (not exactly like the real thing, but composed of a bullet case and tip etc, not a bright red sticky dart) and work pretty much the same way too. Now it seems that not only are the toy guns bright pink or something, but they also dont really resemble the gun that they are supposed to be either. _________________ | |
