Hi,

Think posted in wrong section so re-post here. Please delete the post in Modelgun Modifications.

Just done trade and got a Marshin XM177e2 Full Metal. Really nice and feels real. Works too, not tried full auto though yet, got to reload cartridges.

However, it has a wobble between the upper and lower receiver. That is if you hold the handle you can rock it back and forth some <=1/8" movement.

Furthermore, holding the vertical grip attached to the foregrip via 20mm rail you can rock this side to side some <=1/8".

Told this is normal, so I need some advise, please, as to how I can stop this before I try and b****r it up.

This is a known problem and i think madmike solved it by getting new retaining pins (the 2 that hold the upper and lower reveiver together) made, the origianl pins are to narrow and so the gun wobbles.

Hello Dartec!

Yes, you can use a small rubber o-ring (like a seal) and put it where the front lock pin goes into the upper receiver. Then the o-ring is placed between lower and upper receiver, reducing movement but there still is a slight gap between the two receiver parts. I used that before I reworked my gun. It works not too bad. I was told some soldiers do that on real AR-15s.

Greetings

Mike

Will try this weekend.
I have made a 'paper' spacer and put it between the lower receiver and lug on the upper, this has reduced the wobble. So with the o ring could be there.

Also, the forgrip can be twisted as though the lugs on the two halves don't fit into the cogs on the barrel snugly.

Some thing to work just like the real thing adding to realism.

cheers.
