Airsoft Replicas Seized By U.S. Customs!


It had been reported that Federal BATFE – (Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives) had seized a shipment of WE TTI M4 Gas Blow Back replicas headed for resale at Airsoft Outlet NW.

As supporters of airsoft we should be aware of the current laws regarding airsoft. According to the video the BATFE claims that airsoft replicas can be modified to be real steel machine guns, with little effort. As absurd as this may seem, just the fact that airsoft is portrayed in a negative manner should cause concern among it’s loyal fans.

I would like to see one of these converted and tested with a live round to see what would happen?

Its ridiculous! This ‘Get Smart agent’ doesn’t know what side his arse is on! There are no grounds for what he is saying. I admit that GBB guns are very realistic and work and feel like the real thing, but who in their right mind would re-engineer a GBB to chamber a live round?

The whole of YouTube is filled with kids and recreationists showing off their GBB weapon; it’s a harmless sport, an escapism, a bit of fun for those that study and are interested in military combat.

Get Smart needs to look into the phenomenon of GBB, and take part in a few skirmishes/survival games.

I think it's part of the usual Publicity campaign to alienate Joe Public against guns in general - as has has happened in Australia and the UK. Never underestimate the power of TV! For better or for worse!
Come on U.S. enthusiasts, please make a lot of NOISE against idiots like this, on principle.
Our local Mayor banned the Annual Gun Show that's been held in our city of Waitakere for many years on the grounds that Gun Shows don't fit with our Family orientated West Auckland image!
TOO MANY PEOPLE like him in politics, and Joe Public buy it every time!
The Gun Show will be held in another part of Auckland.
Glad to say he won't be Mayor much longer, as we now have become a combined Super-City - just plain Auckland!
