Shells in the 870/M1100 Empty
PostSubject: Shells in the 870/M1100   Shells in the 870/M1100 Icon_minitimeTue Jan 18, 2011 4:26 pm

I've got both the M870 and M1100 shell ejecting shotguns; since I use these as props, I love the shell ejection. Unfortunately I hate the blue shells, as that just screams "dummy round".
It's not the same size as a real 12ga... anyone know if any of the other types of dummy shells out there will work? The Tanaka shotguns have other options available (green, clear, etc), but the Tanaka models also cost three or four times as much as I paid for my Maruzen models.

Doesn't have to fire, I just want something that will cycle. Sure, I can paint the rounds, but then it chips and I get paint flecks in the works.

Thanks!

When it was first out back in the early 90s the shells were in red...then don't know who the goddamn inside Maruzen decided to switch it to blue (Tanaka's not much better - they came up with green for the 870 series...the clear one's from Redwolf and yet they don't make some in red either).

I suggest you get some better paint for the job (as tape/stickers will be worse)...and did you compared it with 20ga yet (might be closer in dimension)?
