Kokusai SAA full metal

Just wondering if anyone knows if this full metal SAA has a blocked barrel? My reasons for thinking maybe it doesn't are that it is silver, yet full metal- however it is produced in Japan. So, maybe because it is a replica of a pre 1890 gun, it doesn't need to be gold, so maybe it doesn't need a blocked barrel? Could anyone provide some information?

Joe, Yes, all metal modelguns built in japan after 1972 require the barrels to be cast solid (fully blocked) and any all metal handguns have to be gold plated as an identification marking showing that it is in fact, an all metal model/airsoftgun. Regardless of the pre-1890's style. (The pre-1890 replica rule is purely a U.S. regulation on replica/model/airsoftguns and doesn't apply to anywhere outside of the U.S.) They evidently cannot be chrome plated or blued or any other finish besides gold..I do believe that the Kokusai SAA that you have seen, is infact a misrepresented chrome plated ABS modelgun either that or it's an original 1970 all zinc modelgun..

Hi Rizzo,
I rescently purchased this model and it is gold plated,and i'm afraid it also has a blocked barrel nevertheless it is a great model gun and is really well made as are all of Kokusai modelguns, the only problem is i cant get the pfc shells for it anywhere as it only comes with two replica cartridges that don't fit the pistol

The HWS SAA, is a great modelgun that looks fantastic in nickel. However, it is made of mostly ABS plastic with some added weights to give it some semblance of the proper Colt SAA weight. So, if they didn't (or couldn't) add enough weight, it might seem to be too "plasticky" compared to a all metal version.

Yes, the finish is good enough to hide the plastic construction+there are allot of zinc parts in it too so, plastic or not, it is still a good looking modelgun!
