Cartridges Compatability

Anyone knows if for a same caliber, cartridges from different brands are compatible?

Can i use M16 maruzen cartridges in MGC mags?
Or can I use MGC .45acp in a Maruzen mag for exemple?

Same questions about mags...

(I'm actually selling my Maruzen airsoft shotgun to buy the MGC shotgun, so I mixed the names in my head )

Yes, in that case, the Marushin cartridges will work in the MGC but, unless they are loaded with care they won't function properly.

I don't know about the MGC .45 cartridges in the Marushin..As MGC made many variants of the .45 cartridge.

This is very confusing issue.
There are always some difference in size from different brands. You'll be lucky if you can put other brand's cartridge in magazine & chambered. It's common that even it can be chambered, it may not be easily extracted smoothly.

It is quite an interesting research topic to compare & test all different cartridges from so many different makers.

But to be safe (to the gun & human), I think it's better to keep using the same brand cartridge on the gun if firing.

You are right, it is a confusing issue as there where many manufactures of modelguns and cartridges.

So, later I will try to make a list of the cartridges that I know of going by brand (Marushin and the like) and interchange ability.

With the typical modelgun being weak, it is good sense to at least use the cartridges that where ment for the particular modelgun as the use of an HW cartridge in a modelgun intended for CP cartridges is asking for breakages.
