has anyone seen or used these caps before? this is what they are selling now at unique canes. last time i ordered from there they were the model gun caps in the yellow box for $15. now they are selling these new ones for 17.50....

Yes, I have seen these caps before.. That is interesting that they have changed the box art.

All of the caps produced today are manufactured by Kanecap(at least that is what I heard anyways) these Kanecaps are also known as the MGC brand caps.

I prefer these caps and the MGC caps over the Marushin caps..

Hi John, I don't think that they are made in Taiwan, I think that they are Japanese but I could be wrong..But, I do recognise the "Kane cap" name as it is even printed on the the Marushin cap "holder" also, I had read some where that there is only one cap manufacturer that makes the current 7mm caps..

So, hopefully for many of us that fire our modelguns, that they never have a fire or any other disaster!

I wish that I could obtain some of the Pre-loaded cartridges that you show in your pictures! As it would be great if I could modify my modelguns to use them.

Ouch, I sure hope the caps don't go up much more - I thought $15 / 100 was a little expensive... I wish I had been able to order another 10 boxes at that rate...

I wonder why the 7mm's have gone up to $17.50?

Hi Tony,

I think that the cap prices are going up due to rising shipping costs and most people that carry them here know that they are the nearly the only source! So, they charge high prices due to this...

I really don't know how many people in the U.S. buy the 5/7mm caps anyways. Regardless, I usually don't worry about the caps prices if they are available. (as long as the price is in reason!

The Prices of caps has not been as bad as availibility issues, I would rather have expensive caps than none at all!

I'm not sure if there is any friends from Taiwan visiting this Forum. If yes, they may know how to get the caps much cheaper from the sources in Taiwan. I have tried to post message to one on-line modelgun shop in Taiwan but no response from them so far.

Actually John, you are lucky that caps are illegal in HK as you don't have to spend money on caps!

Oh, by the way John, did you see the Mulberry hill .45 acp dummy cartridges and MGC barrel adaptor at endoshoji? They have a spring loaded primer so you can "dry-fire" the gun without damaging the firing pin.

Yes and no. Lucky & unlucky. No cap, no trouble, less $ to spend, less fun !

Ha ha, I already bought that Mulberry hill .45 acp dummy cartridges here. But I have not dry fired on it as they are so beautiful that I don't want to add even a scratch on its surface. But I have not found the MGC barrel adaptor here. Is it full length .45 barrel ? It seems not full length in the photo.
Or is it intended to put inside the original MGC barrel ?

Well, the MGC barrel adaptor fits inside of the original MGC barrel and replaces the detonator so you can cycle the cartridges through the action.

I think that you can dry fire the MGC, with the Mulberry hill cartridges as the firing pin is made of nylon and it won't hurt the case or the "primer"

But, you are right, the MullBerry Hill cartridges are beautiful but expensive!

Thanks for your explanation of the use of the barrel adapter. But I still don't understand. If I just take away the detonator, in theory I can still chamber the dummy cartridge, dry fire the cartridge and extract it by the extractor through manual action, as real. Right ? So why is that adaptor is needed ?

I have tried this in my Marushin M9 with a dummy cartridge and it works (except I did not dry fire).

Wow, I guess that I don't know what exactly the dummy chamber is for, and why it is required..

I of course, don't use the dummy cartridges in my modelguns, so, I don't have any experience with the dummy cartridges.
