hi guys been lurking for a while mainly scouting out info on vairious models
that ive been looking for to add to my collection
started working in film training and advising on the weapons side of life after leaving the forces actualy got too keep some
of the stuff used on the first one i worked on
had a load of help with things from john at pfcguk aswell

modelgun wise i have
xm177 (maurishin)
ppk
baretta 92 cqb (maurishin)

and ive just picked up a rather sorry looking maurishin uzi
looks like a early model and slightly different internaly to the ones ive seen before
(barrel and chamber seem to be one peice)
and by the looks of it ill need to find a bolt or have one made as this is missing
accepts live mags
maurishin stamped on rhs of reciver
cant post pis at the moment but ill try and get something sorted during the week
basicly itl be an ongoing project to get it refinished and into firing condition

Marushin UZI is a fantastic modelgun, even if often they are beaten up and do not look that good. Browsing through forum you will find that many folks here have restored their UZIs to great shape using various methods.
John is a great come-to chap for modelguns :-)

the last pic in the link shows the one peice barrel in place with no seperate chamber

did manage to make a start on this aswell got the jammed on muzzel nut off and fixed the top cover catch witch was jammed solid

Try to post some pictures of the bolt. Close ups of the underside and the bolt face would be good, your right its a very early one, these used a single not double stack magazine, is the mag that it came with single stack? a pic of the top of the mag will help.
It used an old open cart (an open cart that is just a case with a cap at the bottom, not the modern piston multi part carts)
Those carts are REALLY hard to find!!!
Now the problem is the det pin in the barrel, the new type carts need a thinner pin, the one in there is to FAT.
PROBLEM I have seen a lot of these and never been able to get the pin out! I have spoken to others who have had one and got the pin out, so does you pin unscrew?? I thought mine were just siezed, but they were not they were fixed.

So bolt pics, and see if the pin comes out, and mag pics

Havent tryed to take the pin out yet ill have a go tomoro might throw the whole thing in a bucket of oil for a bit first
bolt wise it looks missing the bolt carrier is there but no bolt
magazine that came with it is a live one and looks double stack
the barrel is made out of 2 diff materials and joined by the look of it (on halfs magnetic the other isent)

not a lot more done on this of late been a bit busy to get around to it been having a look online for bluprints to try and make a new bolt as only the bolt carrier is there and no bolt is their anyone around that makes replacements or who has the blueprints i can have to get one made?

not a whole lot of progress on this had a good look at the newer version bolt and it doesent look like it whould be compatable without a few mods
det pin wise still wont budge ether

the barrell doesent look like it will be much of a drama to make a replacement on a lathe with a removeable det pin for newer carts, just need to see if anyone i kow has a lathe i can use for a few hours

i do have a second newer version of the uzi that i picked up recently as part of a batch of filmprops in with a few airsoft bits blank firers and denix stuff allong with a load of the older 5.56 carts and about 30 boxes of caps (that was a nice surprise)
anyone know of were i can get a new det pin for the newer uzi as its missing?

bareing in mind i need to make 2 new bolts and det pins and machine a new barrel
does anyone know if its possible to re work thees to use disposable carts?

i saw the det pin dimentions for the p220 carts on here somewere shame about the disposables i thought blank whould be a no no with our lovely uk gun laws anyway

Just to add my 0.02 cents regarding blank ammunition: Standard off-the-shelf 9mm blanks, whether crimped or PAK, bought from gunshops would be too powerful. However, if you downscale the power of the blank, then you do increase your chances of having more success in making it a true blank firer. Especially if the modelgun is steel construction. A lot of production companies use that method - 3/4 load, 1/2 load, 1/4 load, 1/8 load ect. There's a company called Kynoch that will make up blank ammunition to customer spec, so if you want, for example, 500 9mm crimped blanks with a 1/4 load, they'll do it.....for a price obviously.

You may recall one of my first forum posts was about my successful conversion of a model gun M4 to true blank fire. That was possible with M200 crimped blanks (not Kynoch) made to order with I think 1/16 load.
