| Post by Madmike Well, I have 9 Marushin Pistols and two assault rifles (one MGC and one Marushin). I would say I have approx. 170 carts in total, including 30 for the Marushin XM177E2 and 20 for the MGC M-725. I have also a spare Marushin magazine with 10 9 mm carts for an MP40, although I do not have the SMG itself yet ... | |

| Post by John It is really hard to count for my collections. Most of the new cartridges are in the original boxes, in mint unused condition. I also got many cartridges come with the second handed models. I guess around 300 - 400. | |

| Post by Claymore Well i have about 25 to 30 modelguns at this time and i have on average about 60 to 100 rounds for each model and usually buy more each month. I like to make sure i have loads of spares especially the older Marushin ones for the uzi and mp40 as they dont seem to last too long the screw base gets loose or blows off. I also have mulberry field 45, 9mm, 44 automag and 380 about 20 of each.
so a far amount | |

| Post by Mark In actuallity, i think that cartridges are the main cost other than the modelguns themselves, as you always seem to need replacements as they get worn out, broken, lost etc. Also, if you have a semi or full auto you always seem to feel that you need at least one full magazine full and maybe a second or third or fourth or maybe FIVE full magazines worth!! The manufacturer of cartridges that i have the most of, is definately Marushin as i really like their MP40/Uzi cartridges and i use them in many of my modelguns. _________________ Wanted to buy: MGC Sten MK3....trades?(still) MGC MP40 Marushin MP40 Nakata MP40 TRC MP40 Modelgun manufacturers, past and present:CMC,CAW,Hudson,HWS,LS,MGC(R.I.P. 1960's~2007) Marushin,Marui,Kokusai,Shoei,Tanaka and Western Arms | |

Oh yeah!! the rounds cost, i always get at least enough to fill 2 mags when i buy a new model and then slowly keep buying more. This is not to bad for the 45's but starts to get expensive for the 9mm,(45, seven rounds 9mm 15) and then the machine guns 30 to 40 rounds a mag now that is expensive.
I try to buy about 30 rounds a month 5-10 rounds of one calibre up to the 30 this slowly builds up my stash and keeps the cost reasonable.

- It is even extremely hard to get the old type side fire cartridges today, just like collecting antique.
John, you are definitely right about that, the older cartridges are somewhat difficult to find as they where either produced for a very short time before they where obsolete or the manufacturer stopped making modelguns. Some of the older paper cap cartridges are being reproduced today in Japan so, some of them can be bought for a cartridge collection. The "newer" type the "open" 7mm or 5mm cap cartridges can be the hardest to find as they where produced during the time when the modelguns where really popular and they where left to corrode, got used up,broken or lost over the years. | |
