[S] Wood grips for Marushin Automag Clint1

Hi there!

It's probably a long shot, but maybe someone here can help me:
I have a Marushin Automag Clint1 GBB and for reasons beyond me, they didn't use their wooden grips from the Automag modelguns, but rather plastic ones that make a terribly poor job at trying to imitate wood grain. It really is bloody awful, especially as the finish of the gun itself is amazing!

Now I'm looking for real wood grips to get rid of the plastic ones, but Automag I grips are very hard to obtain.
There is a shop in the US, that offers a set of grips, but I'm not sure if they will ship to Europe and it probably will cost a fortune.
So my question is: Does anyone have real wood Automag I grips, that he/she doesn't need anymore? I don't care if they come from a Marushin Automag modelgun (probably my best bet, that's why I post this in the modelgun section, not in the GBB section ), from an Airsoft aftermarket manufacturer (though I don't think, any company has ever done these) or from a real gun, but please, help me to free my Automag from those §"$§&)(!"§ zebra-grips

I also have this one and i know what you mean about the grips but as i dont fire that often its not bothered me to much. i have found a few places that sell automags parts (if they are still in business) i will have a look and see if any have grips, i dont see any reason why a US company would not send grips i know mags can be a problem but grips should be fine. Have you tried ebay.com worth a shot! i will let you know if i find anyone selling grips.

I often bought real grips for airsoft or model gun. Often you must "adjust" it with the dremel . Sometimes it's quite easy, sometimes very complicated...
Fortunately, the automag grip are really flat and it will be easy to adapt (I hope so).

Last advice, don't buy expansive grip, if it can't fit, you will be disappointed....

Sometimes a project drags on for years, so I only now got around to get myself a set of very nice wooden grips for a real AMT Automag, happy to to finally getting rid of the awful plastic grips on my Marushin Automag GBB.
The sad result: They don't fit, and it's not like "I'll just take a dremel and make them fit", it's more like "They're too short and the holes don't line up", making it pretty much impossible to make them fit without destroying them.

So here's my question: Can someone who owns a Marushin Automag modelgun measure the length of the grips and how far the screw-holes are apart? I'd like to check, if the modelgun differs from the airsoftgun.
If it doesn't, that means that real Automag grips fit neither the GBB, nor the modelgun.

If the Prophet won't come to the mountain, the mountain must go to the Prophet.

Maybe it is possible to modify the gun itself so the unmodified grips will fit?
Ok, that would not solve the problem with the shortness, but it will help matching the gip holes with the gun.

If it wasn't for the grips being too short, I'd probably try that.
Making new wholes with "inlays" that have threading would certainly be possible, and I'd probably also try to grind away material from the left grip (the wooden grips are not just shorter, but also a bit thicker than the original plastic grips, which is a problem on the left side of the gun due to the safety lever going over the grip).
I actually expected stuff like that

But the grips being too short is an issue that can't be solved elegantly...
Lengthening the wooden grips in a way that doesn't look stupid is pretty much impossible and it would annoy me to no end, if the grips are not flush with the bottom of the gun's receiver.
I also can't just cut off a part of the receiver, as the length of the magazine definately can't be changed and it'd stick out by then.

So I do think I just have to give up

Ok, I understand.

If you have no hedgehog in your pocket, go the hard way:

Look for a carpenter or – better – a gunsmith and let him make some tailored grips for you.

You can draw the outlines of the grips and then the carpenter/gunsmith mills/saws it out of a flat piece of wood. The rest is sanding, filing and polishing (for the “fish skin” on the grips gunsmiths have a special tool).

Or buy a nice piece of wood with the right thickness and do all the hard labor by yourself.
