PostSubject: shoei fg42 cap firing   Tue Jun 13, 2017 1:16 pm

hi all
just wondered if anyone could enlighten me on what parts are different between the dummy shoei fg42, and the rarer cap firing version. looking at my dummy version it seems that only a detonator pin and the pfc carts would be needed.
cheers
jay

Bolt, cartridges and gas chamber/detonator pin I think:

Should I find more photos of the conversion kit somewhere in my files I will post them.

Comparison photos dummy vs cap-firing bolt of FG42.

I can't find photos of the chamber though. If I remember correctly, there was a special tool for unscrewing and replacing it.

Excellent fella thanks very much. A quick look at them, there is not much difference apart from the extra bit in photo 2. Not sure what it does but presume it is inside the bolt, maybe in front of the dummy firing pin?
