I have a picture here of what some crazy guy has done to a Glock 17, and I wondered if anyone had even thought about trying to do a similar modification on a modelgun? You can see the modified block, obviously for full auto firing, but what about that magazine???

Hi Spencerman,

I have seen other videos like this and they do look great don't they, this mag is actually an authentic glock mag that can be purchased from various sites, not too sure if it would work in a modelgun glock but hey it would still look good Glock Magazine Icon_smile

RUMINT says that it was a Beta C-Mag for an Mp-5 that was modified with the 33-round magazine body for the Glock 18.

I'd like to try one Glock Magazine Icon_smile

Woah, no wonder they call that guy Dangerous Bob! I take it that the breach block is replaced with an after sales one which sticks out sligtly as you can see in the picture which is how they make the Glock 17 fire full auto. I also assume that it would also encompass some sort of selector switch which may be why it sticks out, I may be wrong. Does anyone know what this part is? and where you could get it (although maybe not in the UK Glock Magazine Icon_sad ) ? Personally I wouldnt like to rely on any gun to fire something like 250 shots in full auto and not jam once (except the MP5) so I was pretty well impressed, but I bet that sucker was hot! Glock Magazine Icon_lol Also does anyone know where I could get hi capacity magazines, such as the 32 round Glock or Sig mags etc?

It is a fire selector conversion, I have come across talk of people using these quite extensively in the past and still now, although as I understand it they *may* be illegal in the US. You simply remove the slide plate at the back and slot new part in place, that's it!

Here are a few more pics of a similar product. I haven't made one myself but as long as you had the correct measurements and a milling machine i'd say it'd be pretty easy to make one.
The design is pretty straight forward.

If anyone makes one for a modelgun Glock it'd be really, really cool Glock Magazine Icon_smile

No mate, remove the end cap and fit the unit, it looks a easy fit mod.

Hmm...

This conversion is very interesting and highly illegal in the U.S. due to the fact that if I where to make one even for my Tanaka, I still would be technically in possession of an un-registered machinegun! Besides, the unit unless it was constructed out of plastic and was extremely lite it will break out the back of either the ABS or HW Tanaka slides as they are weak in that area as it is.

I would be happier if Tanaka or Wa Shan where to make and sell the Glock 18 modelguns....

Mark,
Would it be illegal in ALL states as we can see some of the southern ones allow full auto ownership where others ban them completely!

BTW Tanaka did make a G18 - http://web3.incl.ne.jp/shiraaya/tanaka-g18.htm

Phil,

Yes, unfortunately, the conversion would be illegal to make and fit due to the fact that in 1986 they banned the manufacture and possession of newly made civilian machineguns. The only persons that may possess post-1986 manufactured machineguns or conversion parts (machineguns by themselves) are licensed manufacturers/dealers/federal agents/law enforcement and active military. Yes, machineguns are legal in many states (not in my state) although they are restricted. The fact is that machineguns are legal to possess in the U.S. as long as it had/has been registered prior to 1986.

I am aware that Tanaka has made the G18 before...But they haven't made them in years. They are expensive and hard to find so, Tanaka needs to make them again.

Well, I have decided that I really NEED to get me one of those full auto conversions for my Glock. Does anyone know where they are sold so that I might purchase one, or does anybody fancy making one for me??? Glock Magazine Icon_biggrin

I woul happily supply my Glock to be canabalised in that manor, it is the only one of my modelguns that I have never managed to get to fire reliably, but I havent had the time to percivere with it. I think that part of the trouble was that one of the first rounds caught the feed ramp, and took a little chunk out of it, so ever scince then the subsequent rounds have also caught it. I do not fire this gun anymore, but I do have another one somewhere in mint condition, and if it worked I would probably get a couple more as I would probably need them for parts somewhere down the line! Glock Magazine Icon_lol It is a shame it is nowhere near as reliable as the M9 or the 1911. It is a Wa Shan model by the way.

8ace and Spencerman,

This attachment needs to be made as light as possible as it will act as a "jackhammer" due to the reciprocating slide movement. In short it will break your Tanaka's slide.

Centrifugal mass on the back of the ABS slide that is held on by thin ABS rails will break off after a few shots (semi or full) Now, if you use the WaShan "Glock" it might work as the slide is far stronger. (Zinc vs ABS)

The Tanaka Glock's problem is really that the barrel/ feed ramp is ABS.

If i recall correctly the firing mechanism on the Tanaka glock was somewhat different then the real steel Glock.

If i'm not totally out of my mind the Tanaka didn't have the same safety ramp as the real Glock, this is where the extension in the conversion pushes the trigger bar (t-shaped/cruciform shaped part) down as it is off the safety ramp and make the gun go *bang*. (providing the trigger is depressed)

I might have messed up the nomenclature here, but just wanted to give a heads up Glock Magazine Icon_smile

Definitely a cool project!

Btw, this is a pretty cool/good site on the Glock mechanism!

I don’t believe it......... it works Glock Magazine Icon_biggrin

I still have to tweak it a bit to get consistent full auto and tidy it up a bit but it 's looking good so far. I think it will need the P220 rounds for this auto conversion as the slide spring will need changing to a stronger one.

Wow, that does look great. I am glad that I managed to get some 220 rounds from good old Francky. Just suppose that someone wanted to just permanently switch the Glock into full auto mode (so as no need to have a selector on the back), would that be easy, or would they still need to change the back plate?
