Mates,

I heard Colt 1911 model is under development at Tanio Koba, as a modelgun. I assume this will be decendant of MGC GM-5/6 model, Tanio Koba name this model as "Koba/GM-7". Some of the features disclosed so far are:

- Koba Open detonator (open cart) semi auto blow back
- rounds is made from amorphous nylon
- using conventional 7mm MG caps
- mag & barrel can be used for GM-5 (real size rounds model)
- new rounds can be used for GM-5 by exchanging a barrel and det-pin
- Marui GM airsoft related exterior parts is interchangeable
- Projected relaese - April 2008

Isn't this great? but the most important thing is, the amorphous nylon cartridge is "disposable"!!!!
I was thrilled to read this.

Will update you as soon as I got any further news.

cheers,

Happy new year

Ditto here, Cerwyn, considering the ever-shrinking pool of hard-to-find rounds for certain guns...

Disposeable rounds and interchangeable airsoft parts! Great, that would mean some really good quality full metal options available, not to mention that parts can be bought without problem in the UK, so maybe making another model available for everyone here? And disposeable rounds....Ooooooh. Scoop! New Modelgun from Tanio Koba! Icon_biggrin

claymore,

I know. That would be a problem.
One thing I am expecting to happen is, when you say MGC 45 rounds, that can be used for Thompson. Also, Hudson's Thompson and Greasegun can take up MGC 45. Can't we use it for those guns? Also, I wish Tanio-Koba to make 9mm diposable rounds which we may be able to use it for marushin MP40?

Hope the momentum would work positively for modelgun. Airsoft been sold very badly nowaday here because of the power regulation in practice in Feb 2007. Lot of shops are going out or down sized. I heard a rumor that the reason why Marushin released 1910 and Colt25 recently, and planning to release P-08, High-Power, M712 carbine is they feel modelgun can still be sold.

Anyway, see what's happen. We will have toygun festa in coming Jan 5 & 6, hopefully I can get updated news.

cheers,

Alright...another Colt .45 after CAW...wish the makers can come up with something different but still a welcoming news nowadays...

At the same time Tanio-Koba (or others) should make 9mm disposables for MGC's Mac 11!

Agree with you Shazhib...I too feel that the 2 recent offerings from MKK is a sign to test the water...as you mentioned P-08 - will it be made of HW instead of gold-plated zinc version released before?

Slightly crossing the boundary...I thought MKK's 8mm airsoft can reach up to 1.64 Joules instead of 0.98J for 6mm (a concession for Marushin...)

Jim,

Yeah, P08 will be zinc.
0.98J is for 6mm only.
