Somewhat curious, it seems that some Kokusai revolver use plastic grips and some use wood.

And some have the red insert in the front sight and some doesn't, it seems that wood has red insert and plastic gripped revolvers doesn't.

Are there different levels, like a deluxe series of Kokusai modelguns or are they just variations based on year made?

It seems like the guns with wood grips have a higher level of manufacturing, mostly judging from pictures.

Any ideas on this, or is it just me?? Kokusai... Plastic and Wood Grips? Icon_smile

2sharp,

Kokusai made a huge renewal on his revolver line back in early 1980. Before that, Kokusai's revolver came with black plastic grip with no red thing on a front sight.

After renewal, the line has red thing and the grips in brown plastic.

Now, regarding wood vs plastic grip, I do not believe there is a quality differences between those 2. In most cases, somebody swapped the grips from plastic to wood, there is no match number of model with wood grip straight out of factory.

Hope this will helps.

Regards,
