Did anyone ever market a Thompson kit? What other SMG kits are out there?

Hmm.

I don't think that any modelgun manufacturer offered a kit version of the Thompson in the past. Which is too bad as it would have cost far less than the factory assembled version. MGC made several kit versions of many of their modelgun line. The S&W M76, Ingram MAC 11, Beretta M12 and possibly others. Marushin of course, offered the UZI, MP 40, M16, XM177E2, M712.

I can't think of any other SMG kits at this time, but, I am sure that I have left out some.

Hi Ricks,

I don't know of a Thompson in kit form, maybe somebody else can help you there?

Marushin do the MP40 and UZI SMG's, they produce M16 7 XM177E2 models too.

Check out Francky's modelgun sales site listed in the For Sale section here.

The MP40 is a real good model, probably the best firer I own, and not expensive either!

MGC Made a kit version of the MK III Sten and as I understand it these are marked with a "K" on the mag housing .

I also believe this is when they were trying to sell remaining ones off cheap in 1977
