Converting De-acs to Fire Blanks???

does anyone know if it,s possible or legal for that matter to convert or re activate a deac to fire blanks only.

No. It is not legal. It may be possible, but they are now deactivated in such a way, that if you have the knowledge and skill to ractivate them, then you may as well build a gun from scratch, it is easier. You are allowed to modify a deact in certain ways, such as to have the barrel threadded to accept a screw in silencer, but you must not alter the deactivation in any way. That includes removing the barrel/cylinder block to allow the chambering of rounds. It may be possible to get a gun deactivated in such a way as to still be able to fire blanks, but you would have to speak to your local gun shop about this, and it would probably be fairly costly. Usually they could only do this for certain (proven) re-enactment groups or film industry suppliers.

was just wondering, as i,ve not seen an enfield 303 model gun but deactivated ones are 2 a penny, well almost.

correct , altering the "action" of a deact will land you in a world of poo.


sights, stocks and add ons are about the only thing you can do.

Even if you machined out ALL the internal surfaces from a deact and say fitted gas airsoft gear you would have a converted firearm in the eyes of the law.
simple rule.
Leave deacts alone apart from cleaning the things.

Illegal bigtime in the States - just ask the folks at Schoessler's what they have to go through to get a blank-fire-only model approved. I once wished we could do this, too, but the legalities and the cost are prohibitive here.
