Converting the MGC68 MP40 from the older open cartridge & paper cap system to the c.p. P220 cartridge is a popular and successful modification.

I've taken dimensions from the Pin fitted to my own MP40 and drawn it up here

Hi Cerwyn, Thank you for your response and the specs. It would seem that the pins are standardized. Chris

Hi Cerwyn,

Thanks for the tip. The pin does have a grub screw.

Unfortunately the pin has a collar near the base. When the grub screw is adjusted, the pin can only move in a forward direction.

I need to move the pin away from the carts in the mag. Right now, they practically touch one another.

I'm going to try to locate a couple of metal washers of sufficient height and diameter with the idea of finding a washer wide enough to move the det pin about 3/8" away from where it presently sits.

The acceptable choice will go into the trunnion then the det pin assembly will be seated on top of the washer.

With the right sized washer I think I can increase the distance from the tip of the pin to the cart in the magazine.

If this "solution" doesn't work, I think a machinist will need to reduce the shaft length.

Thanks again, Chris

Hi - necroposting...........
I have a friend looking for several of these and it seems Mika isn't making them any longer.
Anyone have another source and/or willing to sell?

Thanks.

Hi ljerr2,

It's really good to hear from you! I hope that you are well and much better now.

8ace would be a good bet, I'd suggest sending him a PM.

Take care and keep in touch!  Very Happy
