Anyone see this over here: http://www.modelguncollector.co.uk/index_wwII.html

(Down in the Hudson section)

This is one of the rarest modelguns i have yet seen! it would be an awesome modelgun to have! I cannot imagine how much it will sell for when it's restored!

I have been keeping my eye on that they have had it a while but its being restored at the moment as the condition is a bit dire. Price wise, well considering that they are selling the MP18 for £920 i thing the grease gun is going to be pretty high.
I was going to email but have a back log of orders at the moment, so i know i cannot afford it.

A question mark, is the Nakata MP40 any good, Jay has emailed me that he has an open barrel version (boxed) i was going to buy another MP40 but his upgraded model but this nakata is tempting. Do you know if they take the same mag and rounds as the Marushin.

Claymore,

Yes, that Hudson is going to be rather expensive! Which is the case with rare items but, that would be an awesome and rare item to have in a modelgun collection! I could just imagine that Hudson all cleaned up and parkerized that would look great and very realistic too! However, some modelgun prices are just going to be naturally high have you ever seen the "hobby fix" M4 carbine/M16A4 (dummy) modelgun prices?

Sadly, i don't have any real experiance with the Nakata MP40 other than what i have read on the net....I have read that they are a fairly good modelgun but the front sight hood is really brittle and they break rather easily. Of course, the best MP40 is the MGC but, the Marushin and the Nakata cast zinc MP40's are preferable to the Marushin ABS MP40 but only in the weight aspect...(The Marushin ABS MP40 has much better details than all of them combined)

I know that some of these Nakatas have been converted to fire 9mmm blanks so, they are strong enough for that use as for the other modelgun type detonators, i have seen some of these Nakata's converted to use MGC,Marushin etc. cartridges on the net. But, i haven't handled or fired any so, i don't really know the specifics on the Nakata's sorry...

Cheers anyway mark, i would prefer the MGC of course and had he offered me one of them i would not of hesitated, i am waiting for a reply back from Jay as to what the nakata is like compared to the marushin ABS in firing and reliability.

The Japanese cannot by law, make anymore Pressed steel modelguns after 1971, they can however, make all of the zinc modelguns they want as long as they meet the laws restrictions. So, yes, the all steel/zinc Hudson M3A1 modelgun is extremely rare!
