As part of my panic buy i also bought this rather nice looking all metal/zinc Browning Hi Power pistol which i have no idea as to its origins.I know denix used to do one many moons ago but not sure if one of theirs(have some old battle orders+pheonix arms cats somewhere to check)

Have not tried stripping yet-pistol cocks but hammer will not stay cocked and trigger moves but doesnt seem to be connected to anything??Hold open lever and the other one at the rear moves but have no idea what if anything they do??

Left hand of the slide is simply stamped 1974 and above the mag release is stamped a 2.

Mag is steel and unstamped or marked marked.

Came with 4 rounds but not sure if dummy or PFC.They cycle and eject but slide doesnt seem to close fully.

Any ideas please as i realy like this as its got the weight and heft over my Marushin ABS pistol Pre VCR Paic Buying Part 2... Unknown Browning HI Power.. ID Help? Icon_wink Pre VCR Paic Buying Part 2... Unknown Browning HI Power.. ID Help? Icon_wink

You should be OK so far, now try putting the safety down, and then see if the slide will move forward and come off over the front of the gun.

Got this far up to now but cannot seem to remove teh ejector etc from the slide.

Im also very confused as to if the hammer actualy is supposed to work with the trigger or is there anything missing?

Also suggested it may be a non firing model but is that a detonator inside the chamber? Pre VCR Paic Buying Part 2... Unknown Browning HI Power.. ID Help? Icon_confused Pre VCR Paic Buying Part 2... Anyway i LOVE this gun as its very heavy and solid feeling.
In my search for a HI Power i managed to find a Blank Firer which was knackered and have a lovely(might be sold)as new Marushin PFC gun-fantastic detail but is light as a feather and dont think would hold up to any use so it had to go.

As far as I know the non firing models had a "detonator" too which helped to center the rounds, my metal P08 and P38 had a "detonator", but were dummy cart models. The P38 had the 1974 marking too.

I couldnt tell you too much about this model, but as far as the hammer working is concerned, it should only fall with a magazine inserted. I also have a spare slide stop lever if you are planning on restoring this model and you need one, just let me know. As for the ejector etc, I have never removed one of the internal types myself, so cannot answer that, but it looks as though it should come out fairly easily.
