| http://www.caw.co.jp/Initially a toy shop. In 1990 began design production of their own modelguns - their first model was Colt Navy 51. Over the years CAW bought molds from other companies, including Mauser 98k originally made by CMC then Tanaka, Colt .32 (originally MGC) and M3A1 Grease Gun (originally Hudson). It is also rumoured that they have bought Thompson, Colt 1911 and Colt Woodsman molds from MGC nad plan to release these modelguns in future. CAW specialises in short series of high-quality (and expensive) models. Apart from modelguns, CAW manufactures also a range of airsoft models (mostly grenade launchers) and airsoft parts under brand "Mosquito Mold".

| Description of a visit in CAW factory. It focuses on airsoft, but also mentions modelguns, and there is a few pictures. http://www.renegaderecon.com/article_details.php?id=13 - Quote :
Airsoft manufacturer Craft Apple Works (CAW) resides in city of Sahara (Chiba prefecture), just next to the capital Tokyo. This airsoft manufacturer also owns and operates several airsoft retail outlets in the city of Sahara along with other non-airsoft stores like say for example, a bookstore! Make no mistake; CAW is big operation that has grown quietly from virtually nothing to one of the big players. Before the times of Ferrari and Porsche, the predecessor of CAW was just small airsoft retail shop of six tsubos (about 20 square meters). President Mr. Yoshihisa Hongo (pictured above with Revolving Launcher) established this retail store on 1990.
To enhance his retail business Mr. Hongo utilized his previous experience of making air gun (Mr. Hongo used to be track shooter) custom parts to create custom parts for airsoft guns. Soon after the wholesalers learned about Mr. Hongo’s then-anonymous parts they requested him to make more to allow wholesale distribution. Hongo’s parts needed to be christened and so the brand name Craft Apple Works was born with Mr. Hongo visualizing three-word name with Craft and Works the obvious ones, but one more was needed. The last one, ”Apple”, was provided by local hardware chain store (which acted as Mr. Hongo’s material supplier on the early days).... since Mr. Hongo was often found carrying their shopping bags that happened to have pictures of green apples all around.
With increasing custom part production CAW was later to become independent airsoft and model gun manufacturer with debut release ”51 Navy” revolver (model gun).
