Company existed from 1979 to 1987. They have manufactured plastic kits for self-assembly. Their Colt 1911 was based on Malugo model.
LS lineup included Colt Detective, S&W Combat Magnum, Luger P08, Walther P38, Nambu, Colt 1911, Colt .25 as well as some bigger guns: Sten MkII and Thompson M1921.

LS models, Bring back a lot of memories for me, walking into a model shop and seeing my first LS model kit and going WOW! good price then as well. i bought a good few kits in my time and would love to be able to buy them again for nostalgia sake, problem is these kits have become unbelievably expensive now. They occasional come up on ebay but over £100 just too expensive for what they are.

Yeah LS was my start too Many happy memories, light weight, no firing but good detail and technically close to the gun portrayed Really a pity so many moulds were destroyed in the fire.
Their hand grenade models are passing from one name to another but appear to be “survivors”

Just as Claymore said, I too remember going into model shops in the early 80's and standing there looking up at the modelguns on the top shelf and even boxes hanging from the ceiling. I remember buying a model Colt Peacemaker which was all plastic, plastic shells and non cap firing, I also received as a Christmas present a Colt 1911. This model was a mix of plastic and metal parts, frame, slide, magazine, barrel and a few parts I remember being plastic, hammer, barrel bushing, .45 shells and a few other parts made from metal. This was a cap firing model, though I never used it that way. I can't quite remember how exactly the caps worked with the brass type of shell, I can remember that the shell had an open top. As I've read on other threads the glue that came in the box never really kept the two halves of the slide together, my dad tried to fix this by using a stronger glue (araldite) and even used a soldering iron to melt the seams together I cannot remember the maker of both models but I do remember drooling over the small catalogue that came with them showing all the different models that the company made. After the models kept falling apart I moved on to metal blank firing replicas instead. Brough

As far as I know LS kits never were available here in Germany but I too remember my dad putting a lot of effort into fixing all kind of toys for me when I was a kid in the 1980s ...
MadMike out before I get too sentimental ...

Is the fire the main reason they stopped making these? I mean if someone started making these today I wouldnt mind buying some

To my understanding the majority of LS compagny’s injection moulds were destroyed in the fire. Many fine model died and eventually the LS company died
Far from top notch PFC or BB models but good looking and affordable in price. But lost for good

I don't recall any LS model kits that fired caps, but i do recall Tokyo Marui doing kits that did (I still have the Mauser Kit - completed!) With those, the cap was placed in the open end of the cartridge. You also got a hook thingy to remove the spent cap!
Of course, Marushin also did kits, which were far superior than either of the above, but when I bought mine (in the very early 80's, but they never had caps!)
My final note, is that I had one of the LS XM177's - sadly, long gone...
