The new metal M712 is loads of fun m712 - Mauser M712 Selector Switch not working... Icon_biggrin , but it's firing on full auto only. The selector switch is working perfectly and points to the right letter (N or R) when selected. I have removed and assembled the selector/ trigger unit a couple of times. Yet, it fires only on full auto despite the switch being on N. Any suggestions?

Thanks.
Krish

Had the exact same problem. When you put the gun back together there is a spring (not a coiled one but flat metal) its part No 23 in your instructions this spring goes behind part No 10 (not in front) pic 5 on the middle page will show you which parts, if the spring goes to the front you get full auto.
Well at least this is what caused the problem on mine.

Funnily enough, my Mauser will only fire in single shot. Turning the lever to Auto locks everything up, the trigger won't move.
Single shots are fine, could this same spring you mention be at fault here?

Not sure on this as there seems to be only one way the selector mechanism can go so in theory it should not lock anything up. Do you have instructions to check on the position of things.

Hi Cerwyn, when I replaced No.23 behind No.10, it locks the trigger on full auto and nothing works. When I move the selector to N it works again. m712 - Mauser M712 Selector Switch not working... Icon_confused

I think Mark has hit the nail on something with this No.23 and No.10 parts. Maybe we need to play around a bit more with it. Well, I have for the past few hours and it's still not rectified m712 - Mauser M712 Selector Switch not working... Icon_rolleyes

Thanks for that tip, makes you wonder if the assembly line at the factory ain't up to scratch eh? i bought this brand new, albeit from the States.
I don't suppose the American market only allows semi auto's do they?
