Post by Garyforce next up for review …… the weapon of choice for her majesties greatest spy…. Who despite being around for nearly 40 years or so keeps getting younger
….yes…here it is….James Bond time ! (incidentally….the new Bond used to go to the same school as me
)
MARUSHINS WALTHER PPK/S AUTOMATIC PISTOL (center fire)

Comments Again here’s another ‘small’ pistol. But one that has an amazingly sleek design, is comfortable to hold and has an excellent weight and feel to it.
Loading To get to the magazine just like the 1911 it has a button just behind the trigger …and the ‘superbly shaped at the bottom’ magazine slides out
The carts as you would expect are small so take 5mm caps and the capacity is 8. Load the carts by unscrewing them and inserting the cap however unlike other models …. Instead of the cap being face up in the cartridges (towards the muzzle) its face down (so towards the hammer)…. After you’ve primed your carts load as many rounds as you wish into the mag …. Insert it.....and your done.
Firing First and foremost you need to chamber a round by puling the slide back and hearing that “click clack”. ….. then all you need do is pull the trigger. You can fire through all 8 rounds in 3-4 seconds ….. and gentlemen ….its LOUD…. I mean VERY LOUD
…. To me it seems having the caps facing the opposite way than is normal only amplifies the sound (my ears are still ringing
) !
Cleaning Stripping the PPK down is a little surreal when you'r so used to automatics like the 1911 !
To remove the slide…. Instead of removing it forwards….you remove it back over the hammer ! …. From then on a series of ‘pins’, springs and a few screws allow removal of the internal mechanism.
BEWARE
…this is EXTREMELY fiddley … and took me several attempts to 1…get it apart and THEN back together…. even with the instructions ! :?
If your not refering to instructions please make note of how all the parts fit back together ! as if you don’t….. your setting yourself up for disaster on this one ! :?
Next, clean and oil the gun using whatever cleaning solution / oil you prefer. (personally i would recommend marks cleaning technique of hot water, baking soda & vinegar)
Then once we are cleaned and oiled .... put it all back together (with care) ....and voila !
Over all Marushin have really given us a great modelgun with the ppk/s ….. it fires brilliantly and feels and looks superb. Comfortable to hold and nicely weighted its right up there in my favourite pistols list.
The complexity and sheer fiddleyness of striping this gun does unfortunately for me take points off :? ….. however …….practise makes perfect in these things and over time your bound to get used to it
….. so the PPK/S is looking at 9/10
