Modelguns.uk has had cap-firing grenades on their site for as long as I can remember, with never any stock. Does anyone have one of these or have any feedback?

Hi Ljerr2 ,

I got one of these as soon as I saw them , maybe a couple of years back, I was intrigued about them .

Mine is the WW2 Mills type with the chunky exterior . They are quite good models with authentic markings and metal parts .

I think it is quite funny and ironic that the grenades function is very hit and miss , just LIKE modelguns !! Grenades... Icon_lol

They use a single 7mm cap under a spring loaded hammer , and the clip in turn closes on top of the hammer . When you throw it the clip is supposed to stay in place until it hits the ground ( but often does not )then the clip flicks off the grenade allowing the hammer to fall under spring pressure and fire the cap .

I find the grenade works best as a booby trap . Set it up on a chair with a trip wire attached then wait for the cat to come in and trip the wire Grenades... Icon_twisted hehehhheehhee.

They are quite tough build out of resin with metal parts . I have quite a few grenades , mostly airsoft ones that fire bbs , smoke , or paintballs but they only work once . Although there are airsoft ones which use airsoft gas and CO2 which are reusable . These are rare in UK though.

Thats why I bought a DYNOTEC blank fire grenade which uses 9mm / 12 gauge ( Grenades... Icon_twisted ) blanks . Now these babies really DO function and in 12 g creates a SHOCK wave and huge blast - but only 2 -3 second fuse Grenades... Icon_rolleyes which means you have to get clear FAST !!

For the money I would say the modelguns ones are ok and quite good replicas , just the function is a disappointment.

Regards .

CARL.

Think I got mine from airsoftscotland some time back , not sure if you can now.

They are available form a few sources in the UK , or were .

With 12 gauge blanks you even get little particles of powder and card blasting out of the vent holes. Cool .

Unless you are into milsim or skirmish you might ask how / why / what would you use them for ?

Just an interesting piece to use and very out of the ordinary .

You can rig some interesting trip wires to catch out the unwary , or those with sinister intentions . Grenades... Icon_wink

A truly pants filling experience to be near one of these on detonation without prior knowledge . Trust me !!

Carl.
