Here's one I've been working on for ages now...

Hudson's PPSh41

I bought this new just before October last year and it came with Hudson's lightened bolt which proved to be... well, useless Exclamation It started to crack after a few attempts at firing so I found an old heavy weight bolt (thanks Brad Exclamation ) which Kickback repaired and "tweaked"

8ace modified the MGC .38Super cartridges to fit and so I ended up with a PPSh that fires! cheers

We fired 175 cartridges to get enough footage for this video. Shocked
It's a very dirty gun, 35 rounds in the drum fired in one or two bursts produces enough residue in the Detonator Chamber and about the base of the Det. Pin to cause jamming.

I use Silicone Grease to lubricate the o-rings in the cartridges and although it burns well it does produce a thick build up of dirt that makes cartridges stick in the chamber.

Stripping and cleaning the Detonator Chamber & Pin after every magazine load is a pain to do... Rolling Eyes but it's the only way I've found so far to ensure long bursts of fire... and it does now empty up to 30 with one squeeze of that trigger Twisted Evil

Idea Maybe the chamber needs widening or venting to clear away gas and residue before I think about the possibilities of the gun firing 71 rds from the real PPSh41 drum I've got.
It fits the Hudson and feeds great when cycling by hand... Question Question Question

Hudson PPSh41

Here's a short clip of my Hudson PPSh41 after some serious modifications were done to correct the design faults this model seems to be inflicted with!

The new style lightweight bolt was replaced by the older and heavier one.
The old bolt was broken, the 2 "prongs" on the bolt face had snapped off and the extractor was broken too. These are common problems with the PPSh41.
Kickback made me a steel insert to replae the "prongs", and a new steel extractor.
8ace made me a new Detonator Pin to suit the MGC .38Super cartridges used.
Hudson may well have modified the magazine internally recently as the .38Super carts had to have the rims machined down to the same diameter as the case body otherwise they wouldn't feed through the mag'. Thanks again 8ace!

Here goes..

My thanks to Kickback, 8ace, Claymore and to Carol without whom this production would not have been possible! Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy

Spotted this on youtube, so I can't claim any credit for it Wink

So up to now, there's 2 working examples out there, Claymores' and this chap. I wonder if mine will be the 3rd?

Copied from https://mp40modelguns.forumotion.net/modelgun-problems-f5/hudson-ppsh41-falling-apart-t1820.htm Please refer to this link for continuing discussion.

Problems with Modelguns not working properly or breaking various parts are common enough, we've all suffered from them often enough.

Reading Jim's post about Hudson's latest STEN being of dubious quality, smootik's comments about poor metal on his MadMax Shotgun prompted me to put this short video together.

My Hudson PPSh41 has just been converted to a gas-bypass system so it'll vent smoke through the barrel so the first test firing session hadbeen eagerly looked forward to.

Video camera set up expecting a good burst of firing and plenty of smoke.... things didn't turn out quite as expected Hudson PPSh41 Videos... Post your Videos and Links Here... Kopfschuettel

The lower reciever snapped cleanly into two pieces Hudson PPSh41 Videos... Post your Videos and Links Here... Icon_eek Looking at the damage, there's so little metal at the break it makes me wonder if that lower reciever ever stood a chance of surviving.
Has anyone else noticed fractures appearing in any of Hudson's recent models Hudson PPSh41 Videos... Post your Videos and Links Here... Icon_question News of Hudson's imminent closure will probably make spare parts availability a problem too.
