| I really want one of these but price is the problem, saw a shoei one at a ww2 reenactment converted to 9mm blank very very nice. the chinese airsoft one is supposed to be pretty good its n AEG full meta wood and for something like £199 seems like a great buy, not seen one in the flesh though. | |

| Even though the AGM electric MP44 isn't a GasBlowBack Airsoft gun, it's still worthy of a mention here just because it IS an MP44 I will, however, move discussions about it to the Airsoft section to keep the Shoei category specific to that Manufacturer. _________________ Cerwyn

| The AGM MP44 seems to be proving extremely popular with reenactors. I've seen photos of one in particular having been blued and lightly "weathered", it's wooden stock re-finished in a darker shade and it looks rather stunning. I believe the cocking handle can be moved the full disance to simulate cocking unlike the AGM MP40 so conversion to simulated blowback might be easier... I'd like one, but I might just wait to see if they launch a GBB version in future _________________ Cerwyn

| I just found this topic. And yes I have an Airsoft StG44! [or MP44] I've compared it with the real deal with a friend's collection and it's impressively similar externally and compares in weight (about 9 lbs vs 11 lbs). The Airsoft mags will fit the magwell of a real StG44, but not vice-versa. The real mags are too big in thickness. Apart from the obvious selector switch and the dummy cocking handle the only other thing I don't like is the wood colour. I've had one go at re-staining it, but it's still not dark enough to look like the real thing. So I'll have another go at it soon. Even so, it's a nice gun to own - until I can afford a Shoei! (NZ$2500!) After staining and with a repro sling - un-oiledBeforeIf anyone has any questions, feel free to ask and I'll try to answer or find out.

| Wood colour is clearly off in the first picture :-)
This model makes a good "beater" that you can just carry around, without worrying that it gets dinged. As a collector I wouldn't take Shoei out for a reenactment ;-) | |

| I agree with you! I just checked Gun City's price, and it's dropped to NZ$1999 ( $2000 really!) I might be tempted if it can drop a few hundred more! | |
