| Looks like you got a pretty nice collection there, Phil.
But surely things can't be that bad that you have to offload them? If you were over here, I'd be helping you out and snapping some of them up.

| You can see most of them on the websites that sell modelguns anyway but are there any in particular you want to see? | |

| No, that's cool. I just wanted to see what you have for sale, because the prices seem very reasonable to me. If I could get them into Australia, I'd be snapping up just about all of them! | |

| Dear Phil
I’m new here. This seems to be one of the few websites worldwide which makes a distinction between true “reproductions” and “airsoft.”
I have no interest in plastic airsoft toys.
Regarding your Desert Eagle, M3 Grease Gun, and MAC-11, are these metal reproductions which load and eject shells and field strip? If so the prices look right.

| Welcome to the forums Dollanganger, Full metal, PFC Firing M3A1 Grease Guns were available many years ago but are as rare as Hen's Teeth now.I'm pretty sure that if you found one, the asking price would be many times more than Phil's asking price of £120 For example, all metal MGC68 MP40 pfc firing models, long since out of production, range in price from £500 to over £1000 Sterling. MGCUK produce a custom built, steel MP38 in both BlankFiring and PFC, asking price £1200 for the B/F Full metal models are available, although much rarer nowadays. Japanese legislation stopped manufacturers using steel in 1977 (I believe). Metal models produced since are in Zinc Alloys or Aluminium (Zinc mostly) Further legislating has curbed production further so ABS and Heavy Weight ABS is more commonly used now. These abs and HW models will have many metal parts as smootik points out. If you're looking for an accurate replica that fires, ejects shells and strips like the genuine article, you'll not be dissapointed. Don't confuse these replicas with Airsoft AEGs etc. The pfc models are far superior (IMHO) Believe me, if a full metal M3A1 Firing replica was available for sale at £120 there would have been a stampede to Phil's home Check out some of the videos here too, that'll give you a good idea how these perform. _________________ Cerwyn

| Dear Cerwyn
Thank you for your response.
So I understand what types of materials I’m dealing with I have a Marushin Uzi of real weight and feel. Is it zinc?
The black paint it came with just rubbed off so I used some hard spray metallic enamels and they worked well.
How does zinc respond to cold blue? Will it melt it like plastic?
Does ABS plastic have real metal weight? Does it feel like metal?
If so it may work for the Grease Gun. I plan to use a pewter coating. Most enamels and paints work well with plastic once coated with a sealer.

| I’ve seriously considered Hudson’s Grease Gun. But from looking into some more from the reviews at this and other sites my reaction is, “What an ugly piece of plastic. It looks like a toy.” However at www.frankys-modelgun.com Hudson’s model looks perfect like real metal. What’s the deal? Are these two different models? Has anyone found Hudson’s Grease Gun easy to paint metallic? | |

Has anyone found Hudson’s Grease Gun easy to paint metallic? If i recall correctly there are at least 2 different versions of the Hudson Grease gun, in heavyweight and abs plastic. Heavyweight - HW feels heavier, but is brittle. ABS is sturdier but feels less like real gun. I think none of my plastic modelguns really feel like the real deal. I think that there might have been all-metal Grease Guns but they would be very expensive and hard to find. The zinc metal modelguns i own feels very realistic in weight/balance. Your Marushin UZI would probably be made of zinc. If i may be so bold i suggest that you spend some time on the forum and read as much as possible, there are many, many different details regarding modelguns that it is really hard to answer most questions with "yes" or "no", which is why it is such a fascinating hobby I'm quite sure that most of your questions would be answered!
