That looks like a very nice piece of work mgc thompson M1921 bolt Icon_biggrin

Steel bolts can transform metal modelguns into really good, consistent firing models. They won't wear out their bolt faces like Zinc Alloy ones do and should last forever.

I've steel bolts in my Thompsons too and they fire really well. They can be a bit hard on brass cartridge rims though but it's far easier dressing brass rims or renewing them than replacing zinc bolts.

Hudson Thompsons have really weak zinc bolts that break really quickly, a steel bolt turned mine into a superb firing model.

Looking forwards to seeing more of your machining skills mgc thompson M1921 bolt Icon_biggrin

Hello Sergeant,

Steel bolts are a very good idea indeed mgc thompson M1921 bolt Icon_wink If American Me doesn't have any more take a look at www.gunbroker.com Auction # 167141587 the Seller is "Model Gun Collector USA"

I'm not sure if forum member 8ace here in the UK still makes steel bolts but it might be worth sending him a PM enquiring about that.
