| Subject: Cargo flights resumed. Tue Apr 20, 2010 10:37 am | |
| EDIT: 6/05/2010
Moved to normal posts, no longer "announcement" style.
EDIT: 30/04/2010 I can confirm that I received overseas mail sent before/after volcano situation. This announcement will be removed in about a week.
EDIT: 23/04/2010
All flights seem to be normal now, although it may take some time to deliver and process backed-up packages.
EDIT: 21/04/2010
Most of flights have now resumed, aeroports are open. It may still take time to clear up the backlog (in passengers and in cargo).
ORIGINAL POST:
Due to the ash cloud from a volcano eruption in Iceland drifting over Europe, most airports across Europe are closed and there is disruption to flights. Mail services (including EMS, DHL and couriers) from/to European destinations are subject to delay until situation is resolved.
DHL informed that clients should currently expect 1-3 days extra delay for intra-Europe air freight, 3-5 day delay for packages between Europe and rest of the world. All time-based guarantees are suspended.
If you plan a purchase that would be transported via air, take note that this might not be the best time...
(this announcement will be removed when situation stabilizes)
