| If it's a spelling issue, it'll be correct as American spelling differs from the Queen's English. Colt Defense Systems have their website here http://www.colt.com/mil/M4.aspSadly I couldn't make out the markings on the real weapon to compareNice looking model isn't it _________________ Cerwyn

| As far as I know Colt Defense was founded in 2002. Not sure if they changed the markings on the M4A1 since then. I have not yet seen a "Colt Defense" marked receiver ... The pictures on their webside show "COLT'S MFG CO. INC." marked receivers though ... http://www.colt.com/mil/downloads.asp | |

| That's what I wanted to raise - "Colt Defense" was stamped on their latest LE 6920 (basic model) & 6940 (with railed handguard) models and for this KSC M4 it is mostly in pre-2002 configuration (apart from the collapsible stock) - and the spelling is actually correct Cerwyn ... Madmike's HF M4A1 have the correct marking on the same spot: "COLT'S MFG CO. INC" - reckon if "Defense" was stamped on the back then the stampings on the front shall be updated as well...a doubt only that's all... Back to this KSC latest offer - it cost roughly JPY ¥45,000 so it's quite a lot cheaper than WA's and best of all (as mentioned) full metal body (unlike the WA's with full of plastic even for the flash hider)...BUT...some Japanese users who test fired the demo just days before (KSC just held a test fire session for their upcoming M4 & Magpul PTS FPG "that foldable pistol-carbine") mentioned that the parts are in their own dimensions therefore real parts may not fit... | |

| This is the latest LE6920 - with different looking selector switch as well... | |

| Thanks for the pic! This Colt Carbine above is a semi only version, thus the slightly different selector switch (technically it is only a safety, not a real selector as there is no AUTO). The "Law Enforcement" restriction is no longer relevant, current American gun laws allow civilians to buy this LE model too. It is a quite common gun with shooters as it is not too expensive (1300 USD). Below is a pic of a Govt. issue military M4 I found on AR15.com. Note that this has "Colt defense" markings too, so current M4 carbines probably have those new markings. | |

| So which is more correct for KSC regarding the marking on the full-auto position on the selector switch: "AUTO" or "BURST"? I'd seen both on real steel before...
And no more "COLT'S MFG CO. INC." stamped on the new Colt...?

| A M4A1 should be "AUTO", a M4 "BURST".
Other sources say the difference between M4 and M4A1 is the flat top receiver on the M4A1 versus the fixed carry handle on the M4.

| Thanks MadMike for the clarification - have found another stamping variation on the AR15 - this should be an old one... | |
