| Hartford (HWS) announced a new dummy model - Japanese Type 94 pistol. It should be available this September, priced at 26880 yen. Thanks go to shazhib for pointing that out :-) http://www.hartford.co.jp/jm94/index.htmThe most strange looking pistol, I have to say, and very intriguing one. I am looking forward to add it to my Nanbu and Baby Nanbu. So far the only choice for Type 94 was a not-so-nice paperweight dummy, or elusive Rokken model that I've only seen once: https://mp40modelguns.forumotion.net/modelgun-general-discussion-f1/japanese-type-94-pistol-t2030.htmI wonder if HWS designed their version from grounds up, or reused Rokken plans and moulds... With very strict weapon laws Japanese firearms have a certain advantage for a collector. There were so few of them designed in Japan that it is relatively easy to have a "full" collection, especially that almost all are available as modelguns: Hudson Nanbu Type 14, ACG/Marushin Baby Nanbu, HWS Type 94, HWS Type 60 revolver as well as rifles from Tanaka/CAW Type 38, 44, 97, 99, 100 and Type 2 (all in various variants). Information about real Type 94 in Wikipedia: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Type_94_8_mm_Pistol

| This is known as "suicide Nambu". If you press a trigger bar on a left side of gun (in 4th picture), it will fire regardless if safety is on or not.
As I always mention, I am very proud of Japanese "Zero" fighter, but as to the small fire arms.....it is miserable, especially, the pistols (rifles are not that bad, but still do not understand why those Japanese rifles are so long...).
But this is the first time type 94 in modelgun, I may buy it.....

| Hartford makes completely new molds for this special project - so...worth a buy as a gesture to support and encourage the industry for more new molds & guns...
Rokken's price simply hit the roof (just somewhere under ¥100,000)... | |
