I did the topslide it looked OK, Japanese friend told me "NEVER Touch the finish grease will spoil it"
I thought "I am not a perfectionist and this is just an experiment so very foolisly did"

GUESS WHAT .. I should listen better!!! I would never have guessed this would hapen.... Or maybe I made some very bad mistake LOL

I once had a MGC M725 M16A2 HW Carbine model that originally came in a natural HW, greyish gun metal finish. After handling it a lot, as well as adding some oil to the inner parts, it went much darker and the finish looked more realistic.

Wait, does it mean that after blueing of HW model it should not be touched at all? (with bare hands that is) Becoming a display only?

I think this is the case with the finish I achieved, but I also think you can apply protective coat on top of finish to protect it, its very much still in the early stages, just looking at different ways to achieve results I am looking for.
To be honest, process is very hard and I am quite sure that I made mistakes, but as title says "practice makes perfect!!"
In general though YES model becomes display only if high quality blued finish is desired.

I had a Marushin HiPower HW model once that was custom blued. It was a very nice model and had a realistic finish. Sadly I gave it my brother-in-law as he was so keen on it and had helped me a lot with other things. He should still have it.

The thing about bluing that you have to remember is that it is a process of oxidation - that is, a coating of metal oxides are formed when you apply the solution to the bare metal. Once you have finished, you either apply a coat of clear lacquer or oil to protect the finish. If it is left uncoated, further oxidation will occurr, and the finish will dull down. Grease on the coating helps protect and prolong it, and grease on the bare metal *before* bluing will result in a poor quality patchy finish. Still, it looks very nice I think - you did a good job.
