| Does anyone know if a bb will work in place of the small ball that sits on top of the spring used for the barrel lock on the Luger P-08. I of course have all the springs but I didn’t think of my zip lock bag trick till I lost the ones I had, and the rest of my P-08’s were already missing them. Or if anyone knows the size of the original? I can reassemble them using just the spring without the ball, but I am afraid of damaging the original springs.
On a side note, I have bought small springs at my local hardware store and have cut some down for other guns but the tension/compression is not quite the same as the original MGC springs. The do work after a fashion for the trigger spring on my MGC Model 73 Octagon Custom for instance. thanks
Not sure if this is the right forum for help? | |

| Hi fearkess.I only just discovered your post! I think a bb is too large in diameter....I have a similar problem with one of my Lugers. Might be able to give you more info in a day or so .... I've found the springs from the internals of a Biro ball point pen, seem to work well as replacement trigger springs on some of my modelguns. As this is an older post you may have solved your problem?? If so I'd be keen to know what you used. Kiwigunner | |

| folks,
are you looking for a bearing? Is the issue here is, the bearing made in metric? rather than inches?

| Thanks Shazhib. My P08 Luger was missing the bearing and spring and I replaced the spring and made a small steel rod to replace the bearing, but it didn't work properly. The reason being I didn't know what size to make it. Yesterday I borrowed a friend's P08 and took out the bearing and measured it = 0.125 inches diameter OR metric 3.19mm! It just took me a while to find another P08 and take the photo. Now I need to find some bearings the correct size! I hope they are available locally. Hope this helps fearless.I also have to make a replacement"L" lever that attaches to the bottom of the "S" link on the toggle and mainspring. The original part has lost its 'hooks" - unless anyone has that part spare. (I know Richard Jones does not have any. ) I never thought about asking you Shazhib or using the forum... so well done fearless for posting the question. And Shazhib for your being willing to help! | Hi, What if I send you 3mm bearing? do you think it will work?
If you cannot 3mm bearing or similar size, let me know.

| Nice P-08 in that pic, kiwigunner... Great news on the bearing issue. I'm also in need of one. I'll keep a lookout for correct size bearings over here in Sweden too. | |

| Just had a quick look on e-Bay, 1/8" (0.125") ball bearings are readily available, have a look at:Likewise, 3mm ball bearings are just as plentiful _________________ Cerwyn

| Excellent sources, thanks Cerwyn. I managed to get some from my local bicycle repair shop after having no success with the local hardware stores. Thanks Shazhib for your offer. Always appreciate your help! My P08 lock works just fine now! Kiwigunner | |
