| UPDATE:Currently in a legislation war with QLD Weapons Licencing regarding the use of a deactivated airsoft BB gun as a replica. This is going to be fun. As of half an hour ago I was quoting the Weapons Act 1990 to a senior police officer in the weapons licencing devision to support my argument. Gaps in the Weapons Act make me furious... | |

| Good on ya mate! We need more people like you challenging the status quo with the current idiotic Australian Gun Laws! I just made some submissions to the NZ Government concerning some proposed changes the police want to make over here. Just check this link:http://www.parliament.nz/en-NZ/PB/SC/Documents/Evidence/6/4/5/49SCLO_EVI_00DBHOH_BILL10610_1_A193982-John-Maine.htm You might find some thing of interest in amongst the blurb! | PS: I think the bits about "Wednesbury unreasonableness" might be a common law argument you could use... that's not spelled Wednesday by the way! and the bit about "“ARBITRARY, CAPRICIOUS AND UNREASONABLE” bureaucratic behaviour fully describes what you are experiencing! Kiwigunner | |

| Kiwigunner, I read your proposal, and would like to borrow you indefinitely to fight the laws that Australia has in place right now But in all seriousness that was a very well though out and constructed proposal! You are completely correct in regards to "ARBITRARY, CAPRICIOUS AND UNREASONABLE" bureaucratic behaviour I am experiencing, its great fun to deal with My conversations have boiled down to one point; if I get a import permit (Form B709a) for a "custom made replica Glock (insert model number)" and the package is declared when coming into Australia I should be fine, due to the fact "I was not told how it was to be made, I only specified that it cannot use any real steel parts". So pretty much the less they know the better...weird to get told that by an officer, guess he was sympathetic to the cause! James | |
