The folding stock on my Marushin Uzi didn't seem to lock up in place very well, and would drop down without warning just when unwanted! Sad

I couldn't find any posts concerning this problem but did find some internet photos **showing a spring in the stock where mine had none. Installing a strong spring has fixed the problem. Very Happy

Thought I'd post this in case others have had the same issue! scratch

Ooops! Embarassed affraid
You are absolutely correct yellow! Very Happy

The truth is I looked at so many photos I couldn't remember where I'd found yours.......ON THIS FORUM Exclamation
I guess I became an internet pirate. pirat

Yours was the only photo I could find showing clearly an original Uzi spring in place on the folding stock. My photo only showed my replacement spring, which is quite different. I've added it now for comparison.
Thanks for your post - and full credit to you......there are very few photos I could locate showing this important detail sunny

nice job, hey by the way how did you get the rivet out to take the stock apart? I want to strip my stock apart and replace some parts with real uzi parts but dont want to drill out or cut the original rivets that hold everything together if I dont have too.

let me know

thanks

Thanks mrclark. Very Happy

The folding stock had me guessing....but I discovered that the "rivets" are in fact pins with a screw-in head. scratch
Unless they've corroded or have been locked with locktite or glue, they easily unscrew by applying a finger from each hand and pressing hard while rotating anti-clockwise.

If yours has the spring in place, watch it doesn't spring off into the space!
But you should have no problem one the pins are loosened.

thanks for the info and the extra detail. I'll give it a try. The stocks that are on my UZI's are crap. Each stock has good parts in some area but crappy in others. I want to make one good stock for my good UZI then use the crappy stocks or whats left for the other UZI's that are not as pleasing to the eye.

I even bough a real UZI folder and it fits but does not allow for the stock to be folded closed. I may have to machine part of it to make it fit.

Maybe I'll post a thread on it soon.
